OUR MISSION
Tomillo’s origins
¿Why the name of Tomillo (Thyme)?The Foundation chooses the name of this plant due to:
- It’s curative properties,
- It’s modesty and resistance,
- It's abundance in Spain
ORIGINS
- Was established in 1984
- Unemployment rates were higher than 20%.
- In response to the social, educational and employment needs.
-To provide support for entrepreneurial initiatives and direct job creation.

Close cooperation with 59 schools
The aim is social integration of children and teenagers.
We give them the opportunity to participate in the development of their own communities.

2 Youth Information Centers: 26.200 people informed
1 Immigrant Assistance Center: 5.700 people assisted

Enhancing our Entrepreneurship Program (Sept 2011-Feb 2013)
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
1. Reinforcing our training itinerary for entrepreneurs:Develop our present activity into a more integrated
Training and Consultancy Program, in order to benefit a wider range of beneficiaries in a more efficient way.
2. Extending entrepreneurship across the entire Tomillo organization: Transversal design of entrepreneurial spirit
throughout all our services and activities. An example is to include entrepreneurship models in our vocational training programs for young people.

3. Financial support for micro-entrepreneurs:Develop new financial instruments for our micro-
entrepreneurs. We are creating a small Venture Capital Fund, looking for new alliances with Financial Institutions (i.e. La Caixa), etc..
4. Increasing our dissemination activities and on-line training: Mainly reinforcing our internet site www.sieres.org, in
order to include updated information and available resources, as well as on-line training programs both for entrepreneurs and for trainers.
5. Establishing strategic alliances: Both at national and European level, in order to collaborate and exchange know-how and good practices.

People of the organisation
There are 490 in the Tomillo team, mostly teachers, psychologists and counselors. Together we create social and emplyoment opportunities together.
We also have an amazing team of 397 volunteers

Board of directors
Managing director - Carmen García de Andrés Graduated in Economics and Business Studies. She has been working in the private sector for 23 years as a consultant. She joined Tomillo in 2008.
Social Projects Director - Luis Mª López- ArangurenDoctor of Pedagogy, he works in education in marginalization contexts and education and employment of risk groups since the 70's. He works in Tomillo since 1988.
Childhood, Adolescence and Family Area Director - Paloma Garrido Pedagogue and psychomotor skills specialist, she has worked with children and adolescents at risk situation or/and social conflict and with dysfunctional families. She works in Tomillo since 1993.
Centro Abierto Director – Juan Ramírez de FranciaPsychologist, an expert on Emotional Intelligence. Since 2005, co-founded a company specializing in Personal Growth. In Tomillo since 2011.
Entities for Work Insertion Director - Pedro Lantero CerveraGraduated in Business Administration. Work experience abroad. MBA at Instituto Empresa

Economics Studies Center Director - Juan Carlos Collado CurielDoctor of Economics at Berkeley. He worked for Citibank, Generalidad Valenciana, UNED, Government Presidency and The Fiscal Studies Institution. He works in Tomillo since 1991.
Consultancy and Projects Area Director - Enrique Parra BañoICAI Engineer , General Manager Program at IESE, Master in Computer Science and Marketing. He has worked for Arthur Andersen, ENDESA, Madrid stock exchange, AXA, Prosegur, Gartner, independent consultant. He works in Tomillo since 2008.
Human Resources Director - Alipio Calvo Pérez Graduated in Sociology in UCM Madrid. HHRR Strategic Management at EOI. Professional experience in Human Resources Area of Doctors of the World and CEAR. He works in Tomillo since 2009.
Secretary General - José A. Muñoz ComendadorGraduated in Law. Accountant-Fiscal and Personnel Administration Advanced Technician at CEF. He has worked in Urquijo Bank companies and joined Tomillo in 1984.
