The Libertad Foundation and The Libertad Medical Center are committed to being tangible expressions of God’s love and concern for the poor and needy by providing an atmosphere of compassion, respect and dignity where the residents of the island of Tierra Bomba may receive quality and timely attention for their health needs.

Operating under the auspices of Youth With A Mission-Proyecto Libertad and located in the island community of Bocachica, just off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia, The Libertad Foundation was founded to provide a practical response to the critical need for quality health care in these isolated and distressed island communities.

Chronic poverty, lack of employment and a poor educational system are but a few of the obstacles that challenge the residents of this island. The Libertad Foundation and The Libertad Medical Center strive to meet these needs through ministry in six areas: Community Health Education, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Maternity Services and General Medicine.

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION:Promoting good health and disease prevention by educating individuals and communities to voluntarily change their lifestyles, habits, attitudes and behaviors in order to improve their all-around health and well-being. DENTISTRY: Serving the community through basic dental hygiene, corrective procedures and prevention.

PHYSICAL THERAPY:Helping to improve the quality of life and movement potential of patients with injuries or illnesses that limit their ability to move and perform basic daily functions.MATERNITY SERVICES:Advocating for the health and well-being of pregnant women, infants and young children. GENERAL MEDICINE:Providing essential medical attention for the sick and injured.
