2013-2014 Tutorial Schedule

Teachers are aware of the days and times they

made themselves available for tutorial. However, in order for teachers to adequately plan for tutorial Instruction, teachers need to be notified in advance

(at least two days) that your child has permission to stay for tutorial, and they need to know how students will be getting home. Therefore, parents,

whenever you’d like your child to participate in

tutorial, please complete a tutorial permission pass and submit it to your child’s teacher electronically

Many Thanks - Parks

BBBUUULLLLLLDDDOOOGGG PPPOOOLLLIIICCCIIIEEESSS AAANNNDDD PPPRRROOOCCCEEEDDDUUURRREEESSS

EEAARRLLYY DDIISSMMIISSSSAALL PPOOLLIICCYY If a student needs to leave BEFORE school is dismissed at 2:20 pm, a note from the parent or guardian must be sent to the front office, preferably 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment. Parents or guardians must come to the office in person to sign out their children. Checkouts are discouraged between 1:45 & 2:15 pm.

A picture ID is required when a parent or guardian is checking out a student. No student will be released to any person unless their names appear on the student contact card without prior permission from the parent or guardian. This minimizes interruptions to instruction. In an emergency, a parent may come directly to the office to request that a student be

dismissed early.

TTAARRDDYY PPOOLLIICCYY School officially starts at 7:40 AM. Students are marked tardy starting at 7:41 AM. A parent must escort student(s) into the school after this time. You will then be given a tardy sticker for entrance into class. Students will not be allowed to enter the classroom without their tardy sticker.

BBOOOOKKKKEEEEPPEERR’’SS NNOOTTEE Seaborn Lee Elementary School does NOT accept checks. Please send all payments in the form of cash or money orders.

CCAARR RRIIDDEERR PPOOLLIICCYY When picking up or dropping off your child please adhere to the directions of staff members and the following rules of the car riding zone:

Do no park or attempt to leave your car unattended.

For our students’ safety, DO NOT drop students off in the parking lot.

All vehicles should stay in a single lane of traffic.

All students should load or unload only from the passenger side of the vehicle.

Do not attempt to conference with teachers while in the loading zone, work to keep traffic flowing.

Children will not be allowed to leave the loading area to cross the loading zone or the parking lot unless escorted by a parent or staff member.

Students who are not picked up by 2:45 p.m. will be reported to the school social worker.

PPMM TTRRAANNSSPPOORRTTAATTIIOONN CCHHAANNGGEESS Requests to change your child’s mode of transportation must be submitted in writing by 1:45 p.m. Feel free to use the Transportation Change form located in the front office for any changes.

SSTTUUDDEENNTT HHEEAALLTTHH SSEERRVVIICCEESS If your child must be given any medication during school hours, you must complete and return an Authorization form to Ms. Burgess. This form may be picked up from Ms. Burgess in the school clinic. If medication can be given at home or after school hours, please do so. However, if medication must be given during school hours, on a field trip, or during a school chaperoned “before” or “after” school activity, this form must be completed.

NNOOTTAARRYY PPUUBBLLIICC OONNSSIITTEE No fee. You must show a picture ID. See bookkeeper.

GGEENNEERRAALL SSAAFFEETTYY RRUULLEESS Please know that SLES takes proactive measures to better ensure the safety of our students. For this reason, students may not be dropped off before 7:15 a.m. and must be picked up by 2:45 p.m. unless they participate in an afterschool activity for which a written permission slip must be on file. Also, do not try to enter blocked areas of the parking lot. Barriers have been strategically placed for safety reasons. It is important that these policies and procedures are followed. If they are not, parents may be issued warning letters.

What Is Title 1?

Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and state academic assessments. The Title I mission is to ensure that each child successfully meets or exceeds Georgia's proficient and advanced levels of student performance and meets or exceeds expectations on local, state, and national assessments.
