THE TOP-DOWN APPROACH – TEACHER CENTRIC

Teachers/trainers/facilitators dictate:

• what they want to see in their student’s eportfolios

• how they want to see it – sometimes providing templates

• how the student should share their eportfolio with them and for how long.

THE BOTTOM-UP APPROACH – LEARNER CENTRIC

Learners (not teachers/trainers/facilitators) decide:

• If they will use their eportfolio

• What artefacts they will place in it

• How they will display those artefacts – and the purpose of those displays

• If, when, with who and for how long they will share those displays
