From poor response to lowprognosis concept: The new POSEIDON criteria

OverviewManaging patients with impaired or poor ovarian response (POR) is achallenging issue. Number of oocytes retrieved has been adopted asa criterion of POR in most clinical trials, although the thresholdnumber differs considerably between studies. A panel of experts(Patient-Oriented Strategies Encompassing Individualized OocyteNumber, the POSEIDON group) recently proposed new criteria to helpguide the physician in handling POR patients. This workshop will introduce the new POSEIDON criteria as a meansto improve the management of patients exposed to assistedreproductive technologies, promote more specific approaches topatients with impaired prognosis during IVF, thereby offering bettertools with which to optimize IVF success rates.

Learning objectivesBy attending this live educational workshop, participants will be able to:

• Grasp the state of art regarding definition of impaired response toovarian stimulation

• Comprehend the new low prognosis concept and its application inclinical practice

• Individualize and manage women with expected or unexpected lowovarian response to ART according POSEIDON classification
