Cover Option - 5 StarMechanical Breakdown InsuranceMachines covered: Motorcycles and Scooters from 49cc to 1600cc. For 6 month old new parallel imports and extended cover on new and nearly new Motorcycles. Policy includes recovery.THE POLICY CLAIM LIMIT IS SPECIFIED ON THE APPLICATION FORM.All mechanical and electrical components are cov-ered by this Certificate plus:1. Replacement of the battery, due to faulty manufacture.2. The breakdown of the internal and external structural members of the exhaust system excluding that caused by impact and/or corrosion.3. Corrosion (including rust) of the frame, attached body parts, chrome and paintwork.With the exception of:-• Trim/glass of any description.• Saddles and panniers.• Normal wear and tear/service items and other components that are subject to routine maintenance or periodic replacement or repair, including (but not limited to) spark plugs, H.T. leads, clutch facings, brake discs, drums and frictional materials, chains, belts, sprockets, cables, hoses, light units and bulbs, batteries, tyres, exhaust systems. • Stereo units, communications systems and connected equipment.• Parts/accessories not approved by the manufacturer/concessionaire or additional to the specification after the time of the original sale.• Stereo units, communications systems and connected equipment.• Parts/accessories not approved by the manufacturer/concessionaire or additional to the specification after the time of the original sale.DefinitionCorrosion (including rust) means corrosion which starts on the inner surface of the affected part and works through to the outside of the said part or parts.Exclusions1. The machine not having been adequately cleaned on a regular basis in accordance with the instructions contained in the relevant owners manual.2. The bodywork of the machine being chipped, scratched, dented or otherwise damaged.3. Bodywork and/or frame repairs and/or general maintenance not having been carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.4. The bodywork of the machine being affected by sap falling from trees or other damaged caused by vegetation, birds, animals, or by atmospheric pollution.

Cover Option - 5 Star (continued)5. Lack of care for or abnormal use of the machine.6. Corrosion to, or caused by, the fitting of parts which are not approved by the manufacturer of the machine.7. Corrosion of the machines’ exhaust system, wheels or wheel trims.8. Normal wear and tear/service items and other components that are subject to routine maintenance or periodic replacement or repair including (but not limited to spark plugs, H.T. leads, clutch facings, brake discs, drums and frictional materials, chains, belts, sprockets, cables, all light units, bulbs including gas filled, LEDs, Xenon starter units, tyres.9. Stereo units, communications systems and connected equipment.10.Parts/accessories not approved by the manufacturer/concessionaire or additional to the specification after the time of the original sale.

ElectricalStarter motor, alternator/generator, rectifier (to a maximum of £200 per claim including V.A.T. or the limit of the Certificate, (whichever is the lesser) excluding external wires and terminals.Shaft Drive UnitDriveshaft, universal joints, bearings and gears, excluding chains, belts, sprockets and rubber couplings.SuspensionRear suspension units, loss of fluid or pressure or mechanical breakdown of the suspension joint (to a maximum of £150 per claim including V.A.T. or the limit of the Certificate, whichever is the lesser).

Cover Option - 3 StarMechanical Breakdown InsuranceMachines covered: Motorcycles and Scooters from 49cc to 1600cc, up to 8 years of age and less than 40,000 miles. Policy includes recovery.THE POLICY CLAIM LIMIT IS SPECIFIED ON THE APPLICATION FORM.Components CoveredEngineCylinder head, all internal bushes, camshaft and followers, cylinder bores, crankshaft and bearings, cylinder block or barrels, crankcase assembly, cylinder head gasket, push rods, gudgeon pins, connecting rods and bearings, flywheel, oil pump, tappet gear, pistons and rings, timing gears, chains and belts (breakage only), valves and guides, excluding burnt out valves, decarbonising and reseating.GearboxesManual and automatic: internal breakdown or any mechanical parts, including torque converter, oil pump, internal oil seals, gears, synchromesh hubs, selector shafts, bearings and bushes, excluding all external linkages and kickstart.Cooling SystemWater pump, thermostat, excluding hoses, belts and ancillaries.Swinging Arm UnitAll bushes and components within the swinging arm unit excluding dampers.ClutchMechanical breakdown including labour but excluding general wear and tear.
