The City of Frisco is committed to serving the diverse needs of its citizens. The Frisco Parks & Recreation Department has established a Scholarship Program for qualified Frisco residents to participate in City of Frisco recreation programs and special events. Scholarships may not be applied to Frisco Athletic Center memberships. To download an application, go to FriscoFun.org. The application deadline for Summer programs is Friday, May 9 at 5 p.m.

The Frisco Parks & Recreation Department has established a Scholarship

Withdrawal & Transfer PolicyWithdrawal Request:•All approved withdrawals will be assessed a 20% processing fee.•Withdrawal forms will only be considered if received at least 10

days prior to course start date with the exception of medical requests.

•There are no refunds for non-attendance, one day classes or supply fees.

•Convenience charges paid online will not be reimbursed.Transfer Request:•Transfer requests will only be considered if received at least 10

days before the start date of the currently registered course with the exception of medical requests.

•Requested transfer class must have open spots and be in the current Fun Guide.

• If a transfer is not available, and the participant chooses to withdraw from the class, request is subject to Withdrawal Policy above.

• If transfer is to a higher priced class, price difference must be paid before transfer can be completed.

Medical Withdrawal and Transfer Requests:•Written documentation from a physician’s office must accompany

the Withdrawal or Transfer Request. •Request form must be received within 72 hours of the first

missed class. •A 20% processing fee applies to all approved withdrawals and

the refund will be pro-rated if the withdrawal occurs during the course.

•Convenience charges paid online will not be reimbursed.

Refund Policy•Credit card refunds can only be obtained in person at the Frisco

Athletic Center and will be credited to the same type of credit card.

•Cash and check payments can only be refunded by check, which can take approximately 4 weeks. All refund checks will be mailed.

•Refunds on payments made by check will be held 30 days past the initial purchase date before being submitted for processing.

•All account credits and refunds are subject to approval by the Parks and Recreation Department and subject to the applicable pro-ration and processing fees.

•Under no circumstances will a cash refund be provided. • FAC account credits are good for 1 year from the date of issue.•Convenience charges paid online will not be reimbursed.

If you or a family member has special needs and would like to participate in our programs or use a facility, please call us before registering and every effort will be made to meet your needs. Please indicate on the registration form if any special accomodations are needed for successful inclusion in a program, according to the Americans with Disabilities Act, and we will contact you to discuss them.

Waiting List PolicyDue to instructor to participant ratios, each class has a maximum number of spots available. Once the class maximum has been reached, subsequent registrants have the option to be placed on a waiting list. Program openings will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis from the waiting list. Waitlisted participants given a reserved spot must register and pay in person at the Frisco Athletic Center within 24 hours of the initial call. Please insure that the main contact phone number and email address on the account is correct.

CancellationsThe Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any course, program or activity. In the event a course is cancelled, you will be notified and a full refund will be issued to your FAC account. The account credit may be used for other courses or refunded according the Refund Policy.

In the event the Parks & Recreation Department cancels a day of class due to inclement weather or other circumstance, you will be given either a make-up day option or a credit equal to prorated class day amount on your FAC account. The account credit may be used for other programs or refunded according the Refund Policy.

Learn to Swim - Parent and ChildThe purpose of the Parent and Child Aquatic program is to help young children become comfortable in and around the water so they are ready to learn to swim. While the class is designed to raise the comfort level of the child, it is also intended to educate the parent or caregiver in basic water skills so they are better equipped to aid in their child’s aquatic education and ensure that their child stays safe in all water activities. Children two to three years will be introduced to equipment used in preschool lessons and will work with instructors on taking individual direction to help transition from parent and child to preschool swim classes. Parent and child classes are designed for direct interaction between one parent and one child. LEARNTO SWIM

Register your child for a free swim assessment and one of our certified Water Safety Instructors will evaluate their skills and recommend the perfect class.

Registration is required to participate in the free assessment. Two siblings may register together for the same assessment time. The assessment will take approximately 15 to 20 mintues. Assessments are available Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30pm - 7pm. A swimsuit is required and goggles are strongly recommended.

Learn to Swim - Preschool (3-5 yrs.)The earlier a child becomes comfortable in water, familiar with safety precautions, and introduced to the basics of beginner swimming, the better prepared they will be around pools, lakes, and other aquatic environments. Learn to Swim - Level 5To enroll in this level, students must be able to show competency in breathing and execution of all four major strokes (front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly) as well as the elementary backstroke. The Learn to Swim program is proud to offer private and semi-private swim lessons for children of all skill levels ages 3 and up. Our certified instructors will teach the skills required to make swimming a more rewarding and enjoyable experience. Sessions include four, 30-minute private or semi-private lessons.

Note to Parents:

1. Choose a day (Tuesdays or Thursdays) that works best for you.

2. Choose a session start date.

3. Choose a lesson time from those listed below.

4. Register online at FriscoFun.org or in person at the Frisco Athletic Center. Semi-Private must register in-person.

There are no make-up classes or refunds for missed classes without notice. If you are more than 10 minutes late, the instructor may cancel the lesson at their discretion. Please view our medical withdrawal policy on page four before signing up for classes.
