Use the power of yourimagination to journey intoa mysterious andwondrous land where youcan discover the joy ofreading. Help our threeQuest Seekers, Raj, Belleand Louis, complete thethree-staged challenge tofind the golden book.Every book you read getsyou closer to completingthe quest, winning amedal and entering a prizedraw for some fantasticprizes.

The adventure starts inyour local Idea Store orlibrary where you will meetCadmus, the gatekeeper,who will give you yourquest.

Quest Seekers is for under- 16s and starts onSaturday, July 18 endingon Saturday, September 5.

How to take part in Quest SeekersCollect your QuestSeekers fold-outposter andmembership cardfrom the Idea Storeor library. Nowborrow some books.Two books per visitcan be counted asyour Quest Seekersbooks. Read thebooks, write downthe titles and authors onyour poster and decide ona rating. Go back to theIdea Store or library andshow someone from theQuest Seekers team yourmembership card – theywill want to hear howmuch you enjoyed yourbooks. You’ll be given onesheet of stickers. Add yourFirebird Rising sticker nextto the book titles on yourposter. Find the places toput the rest of the stickers.

Congratulations, you’vefinished the first stage ofthe quest!To complete the challenge,you need to read two morebooks for the MountainMission stickers and a final

two books for the Dragon’sLair stickers. That shouldbe two more visits to theIdea Store or library and atthe end you’ll be given acertificate and a goldmedal.

Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP)Programme

PAYP aims to enhance thedevelopment of youngpeople, targeting ages 8 to19 (priority given to 13–19)who are identified as beingnot in educationemployment or training(NEET) or at risk of crime,anti-social behaviour,truancy or social exclusion.The scheme enables themto become involved inpositive activities duringthe school holidays.

The PAYP summerprogrammes offer a rangeof activities across theborough, including sports,arts and craft, streetdance, crime reductionworkshops, footballcoaching, residential, ITand media training, daytrips and specialeducational needsprojects. Most of theactivities offeraccreditation,empowerment, skillsdevelopment andconfidence-building.
