Shellfish aquaculture has grown dramatically in recent years and has
economic and potentially ecological importance to Cape Cod.
Regional growing practices are important to commercial shellfish
farms and municipal efforts to restore or enhance natural
populations of shellfish. Efforts to propagate shellfish also provide
increased volunteer opportunities.
