freestompboxes.org Simple Buffered Splitter 30 Aug 2011, 17:29 culturejam This is a very simple buffered splitter project. You can use it to create two equal outputs for your guitar or another pedal. This is handy for running a stereo amplifier setup, splitting a single signal into two effects pedals, or any of several other applications in which you need to have two equal, buffered outputs. The circuit consists of a simple transistor input buffer that feeds a pair of parallel op amp-based output buffers. From an EE perspective, this isn't a perfect circuit. From a guitar player's perspective, it works exactly as advertised with no problems. Project PDF includes schematic, parts list, build info, layout, and toner transfer artwork. This is a very simple buf fered split ter project . You can use it to create twoequal outputs for your guitar or another pedal. This is handy for running astereo amplif ier setup, split t ing a single signal into two ef fects pedals, or anyof several other applicat ions in which you need to have two equal, buf feredoutputs. The circuit consists of a simple t ransistor input buf fer that feeds apair of parallel op amp-based output buf fers.

From an EE perspect ive, this isn't a perfect circuit . From a guitar player'sperspect ive, it works exact ly as advert ised with no problems.

Project PDF includes schemat ic, parts list , build info, layout , and tonert ransfer artwork.

Nice and useful. I think a phase switch can be an easy add to one of theoutputs, but ... it worth it?

Sorry to resurrect this post but if I was to put a volume pedal af ter one of theoutputs of this split ter, would it also af fect the volume of the other output?

I don't think so.

I'll give it a go, see what happens. Not exact ly a cost ly build, and I'm sure it 'llcome in handy at some point .

Thanks.

Should this eliminate ground loop issues with 2 amps? Or do I needt ransformers.

Re: Simple Buffered Splitter10 Aug 2012, 09:53 Nocentelli

I think that if the outputs share a direct ground connect ion, there is thepossibilit y of ground loop issues.

has anyone done a vero on this?

Why not direct couple the emit ter follower and opamp follower stages?Save t ime in assembly, parts cost and circuit complexit y.
