    1.4 History of changes

1.5 Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)All waste electrical and electronic products must be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government or the local authorities. The WEEE label (see Figure 1) is applied to all such devices.

    Figure 1 WEEE label

The correct disposal and separate collection of waste equipment will help prevent poten-tial negative consequences for the environment and human health. It is a precondition for reuse and recycling of used electrical and electronic equipment.

For more detailed information about disposal of such equipment, please contact Nokia Siemens Networks.

The above statements are fully valid only for equipment installed in the countries of the European Union and is covered by the directive 2002/96/EC. Countries outside the European Union may have other regulations regarding the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment.

    x(in card names)

For convenience, card names are sometimes listed with a lower case x variable, in order to concisely represent multiple cards.

    Example:

I01T40G-x (is to be interpreted as I01T40G-1 and I01T40G-2)

    Preface

1.6 RoHS complianceFlexiPacket MultiRadio complies with the European Union RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

The directive applies to the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment put on the market after 1 July 2006.

Materials usage information on Nokia Siemens Networks Electronic Information Products imported or sold in the Peoples Republic of ChinaFlexiPacket MultiRadio complies with the Chinese standard SJ/T 11364-2006 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equip-ment. The standard applies to the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chro-mium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment put on the market after 1 March 2007.

1.7 Safety instructionsIn this paragraph are indicated all the safety rules and the precautionary measures to follow while carrying out operations on the equipment in order to prevent injuries to per-sonnel and/or damages to the equipment components.

t PLEASE READ THESE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS!

    1.7.1 RF Energy Health Hazard

This symbol indicates a risk of personal injury due to radio frequency exposure.

The radio equipment described in this guide uses radio frequency transmitters.

No one shall be allowed to come in the close proximity of the antenna's front while the transmitter is operating. The antenna will be professionally installed on the outdoor per-manent fix-mounted structures in order to keep it separate from any other antenna and from everybody else.

f WARNING!RF Energy Exposure Limits and Applicable Rules for 6-38 GHz. It is recommended that for each radio equipment deployment site the radio equipment operator refers to the RF exposure rules and precaution for each frequency band and to all other applicable rules and precautions with respect to transmitters, facilities, and operations that may affect the environment due to the RF emissions.

    11

FlexiPacket MultiRadio Rel. 2.5 and IDU (Ax200, FPFM200 and FPH800) commissioning

    Preface

Appropriate warning signs must be properly placed and affixed at the equipment site and access entries.

    1.7.2 Protection against Lightning

Article 810 of the US National Electric Department of Energy Handbook 1996 specifies that radio and television lead-in cables must have adequate surge protection at or near the point of entry to the building. The code specifies that any shielded cable from an external antenna must have the shield directly connected to a 10 AWG wire that connects to the building ground electrode.

Do not turn on power before reading product documentation. This device has a -48 VDC direct current input.

1.7.3 Protection from RF BurnsIt is dangerous to stare into or stand in front of an active antenna aperture. Do not stand in front of or look into an antenna without first ensuring that the associated transmitter or transmitters are switched off. Do not stare into the waveguide port of an ODU (if appli-cable) when the radio is active.

1.7.4 Warning Turn off all power before servicing

f WARNING!Turn off all power before servicing.

2.1 OverviewThis document describes the sequence of steps to be adopted in order to install a site with Hub+FPMR(P) SVR 2.5 Network Elements.

The supported Hubs are listed in Table 4 and are already supported by the Commission-ing Tool CT1.3SU2.

In case of the usage of NON-NSN IDUs, the ODUs must be configured connecting directly the management PC, either via CT or (in this case better) with the WebLCT just to avoid to use two different tools. In these scenarios the powering of the ODUs should be already in place without the P+E support.

With the FPMR(P) SVR 2.5 the System Types in Table 5 are available:

    Supported IDUs Abbreviations

    FlexiPacket Hub A1200 R5.0 (drop1, 2, 3) A1200 or FPH1200

    FlexiPacket Hub A2200 R4.5, R4.5 EP1,R5.0 A2200 or FPH2200

    FlexiPacket Microwave scenarios

2.2 Procedure overviewHere below are listed the main steps to configure for the first time a link made up of FlexiPacket MultiRadio and Nokia Siemens Networks Hub.

    Steps

1 Build the site as in the final set-up (Hub+ODUs and related cabling). The NE should be powered as in the final set-up (P+E, Power Injector or Direct Power).

2 Connect the CT PC to the reserved DCN Port of the Hub.

3 If the system type to be configured is:

    a system type already available with the SVR 2.4 (from 1 to 8 in Table 5) follow the procedure in paragraph 2.4 on page 13;

    a 2+2 XPIC system type (available only in SVR 2.5) follow the procedure in para-graph 2.5 on page 14;

a 2+0 XPIC Ring system type (available only in SVR 2.5) follow the procedure in paragraph 2.6 on page 56.

t The ODU software can be 2.5 or 2.4 or 2.1 (in the last two cases the ODU can be upgraded also in field).

2.3 PC requirementsRefer to paragraph 2.2 of FlexiPacket Commissioning Tool, Rel. 1.3SU2, Operating Documentation, Issue 1 - A25000-A1400-D000-01-76P1.

2.4 Commissioning procedures for the System Types already available with FlexiPacket MultiRadio SVR 2.4Steps

1 Follow the procedure explained in document FlexiPacket Commissioning Tool, Rel. 1.3SU2, Operating Documentation, Issue 1 - A25000-A1400-D000-01-76P1.

2 At the end of the operations in Step 1 open the ODU WebLCT and upgrade the ODU SW from SVR 2.4 to SVR 2.5.

Figure 2 shows an example of the configuration with all the parameters to be configured.

Figure 2 Station block diagram (Example)

Follow the steps here below and the steps in paragraphs 2.5.1 on page 16 and 2.5.2 on page 40.

    Steps

1 Connect the Ethernet cable from your computer Ethernet port to the OBB connector of the FlexiPacket Hub 800.

    OOB IP address is 192.168.254.100

    2 Upgrade the FlexiPacket Hub 800 to R 2.0.

3 Connect the Ethernet cable from your computer Ethernet port to the DCN connector of the FlexiPacket Hub 800 (DCN default IP address: 192.168.255.100).

4 Run the FlexiPacket Commissioning Tool application from Start > Programs > Nokia Siemens Networks > Commissioning Tool > Run CT.
