Four Square Review
1. Use for Closure on the day of instruction or Warm-Up the following day.
2. Fold paper in half and half again to make four squares.
3. Ask students to write down 2 things they learned in the first two squares. They can sketch a picture or symbol to go with it.
4. Ask students to exchange papers with a classmate near them.
5. The classmate then fills in the third square with another concept or vocabulary word.
6. Review concepts as a class. Ask students to pick the next student to share what was written on their paper.
7. If you have a Promethean Board, you can have a student write the concept on the board as you review. They can hand the pen off to another student after writing one idea down. If you’re “old school”, have them write on the chalkboard/hand off the chalk.
8. Ask the students to create a multiple choice question or an open-ended question in the last square.
9. Ask students to give the paper back to its owner to read the third square and answer square 4.
