WORLD BANK The World Bank was created at the 1944 Bretton woods conference along with three other institutions; including the international monetary fund (I.M.F).The World Bank and IMF are based in Washington DC and work with each other. Although many countries were represented at the Bretton wood conference, the United States and the United Kingdom were the most powerful in attendance and dominated the negotiation. Before 1968, the reconstruction and developmental loans provided by the World Bank was too small. The bank Staff was aware of the need to install confidence in the banks fiscal conservation ruled and wanted application had to meet strict criteria. The president of the bank is the president of the entire World Bank group and is responsible for chairing the meeting of the boards of the directors and for overall management of the banks. The vice presidents of the bank are its principal manages in charge of regions, sectors networks and functions .There are two executive vice presidents three senior vice president and 24 Vice President. The board of directors consist of World Bank groups President and 25 executive directors. FUNCTION

1) Granting developmental loans underdeveloped countries.

2) Providing loans to private concern for specified prefects.

3) Promoting foreign investment by guaranteeing loans by other

organizations.

4) Granting reconstruction loans toward devastating countries

UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND (UNFPA).

The united nations population form of (UNFPA) formerly the united fund

for populations activities is a UN organization .The work of the UNFPA

involves promotion of the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a

life of health and equal opportunity .This is done through major national

and demographic survey and with populations census .The data generated

are used to create programme to reduce poverty and address issues

concerning the rights of particular minority population groups.

The UNFPA supports programme in more than 150 countries,

territories and area spread across four geographic regions Arab states and

Europe, Asia and the pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and sub-

Sahara Africa .Around three quarters of the staff work in the field. It is a

member of the united nation developmental group and part of the

executive committee.

UNFPA began operation in 1969 as the United Nation fund for

population activities (the name was changed in 1987) under the

administration of the united nation developmental fund. In 1971 it was

placed under the authority of united nation general assembly.

1) They ensure that every pregnancy is wanted and birth is safe,

2) They ensure that every young person is free of HIV and sexually

transmitted disease.

3) UNFPA also ensures that every girl and woman treated with

dignity.

o FUNCTIONS

1) Their works involves the improvement of reproductive health

such as creation of national strategies and protocols and provision of

service in minority group as well as internal grant and refugees.

2) They are recently been known for their campaign against obstetric

fistula and genital mutilation.

3) To promote the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a life

of health and equal opportunities.1
