For the first time in both their histories, France
and the French University Sports Federation will
host the International University Sports Federation
(FISU) Forum from 4 to 9 July 2016 in Montpellier.
This edition’s theme is “’From the Origins to the
Future of University Sport”. Throughout the
week, various conferences, workshops and sports
activities will focus on this theme in Montpellier’s
universities. The activities will concentrate on ex-
changing, sharing and reflection, in adherence with
the Forum’s main objectives: develop and strength-
en the international university sports arena; im-
prove communications between all those involved
in sports within institutions of higher education;
become a learning and communications platform
on an international level.
The French University Sports Federation is deep-
ly honoured and proud to welcome the interna-
tional sports family to France.
For two years now, the Organising Committee
has been working hard to make the Montpelli-
er trip an unforgettable experience and to ensure
that each participant can fully partake in the “FISU
Forum experience”!
I hope that you will all enjoy this unique event
where you will meet and share with others in a uni-
versal and peace ful atmosphere; the very nature of
sport in general and university sports in particular.
Welcome to France and enjoy the 2016 FISU
Forum!
ulier.
Bienvenue en France et profitez pleinement du
Forum FISU 2016!

Quel est l’objectif du manuel
électronique sur l’anti-dopage
pour les universités créé par la FISU
et l’AMA?
Marc Peltier, membre du Comité
Éducation de l’AMA: Le ma-
nuel est un projet sensé éduquer
des jeunes qui évolueront ensuite au
plus près d’athlètes, qui se tournent
souvent vers leur entourage lor-
squ’ils rencontrent des difficultés.
Ce projet en coopération avec la
FISU a été lancé il y a un an lors
de la Conférence aux Universiades
de Gwangju, République de Corée.
Est-ce que le manuel a évolué du-
rant cette première année?
Nous avons eu un an pour l’ex-
périmenter, et cette année
nous avons de nouvelles universi-
tés d’autres pays et continents qui
souhaitent l’essayer. Il va y avoir une
nouvelle phase d’essai en septem-
bre avec une nouvelle version du
manuel qui sera probablement plus
interactive.
En quoi est-ce qu’un partenariat
avec la FISU est important pour
développer un tel projet?
C’est une grande chance d’avoir
réussi à mettre en place cette
collaboration entre l’AMA et la FISU,
notamment parce que la FISU a des
liens directs avec les fédérations na-
tionales ainsi qu’avec les universités,
ce que l’AMA n’a pas.
Le programme met l’accent sur
la prévention contre le dopage.
Est-ce que les athlètes étudiants
sont votre groupe cible pour cette
approche?
Nous cherchons à interpeller les
athlètes étudiants, les athlètes,
mais également les étudiants qui
ne sont pas forcément des athlètes
mais qui seront amenés à conseill-
er des athlètes. Je suis par exemple
professeur de droit, et j’enseigne les
règlementations anti-dopage à de
futurs avocats ou agents de spor-
tifs. Il est très important qu’ils soient
également au courant de l’existence
de ce programme.

What iS the aim oF the anti-doP-ing e-textbook WhiCh iS Part oF
the FiSU-Wada anti-doPing Pro-gramme For UniverSitieS?
WADA Education Committee member Marc Peltier: The
textbook is a project which is aimed to educate the future en-tourage of athletes because the athletes usually turn to their en-tourage when they have issues about anti-doping.
the ProJeCt With FiSU WaS laUnChed one year ago at the
SUmmer UniverSiade in gWangJU, ko-rea. haS the e-textbook develoPed dUring the FirSt year oF availability?
Last year was the first year of experience, so this year we
have new universities from oth-er countries and continents who have tried the e-textbook. There will be a new phase starting in September with a new version of the e-textbook, probably more interactive.
hoW imPortant iS it to have a Part-ner like FiSU to develoP thiS
ProJeCt?
It is a great opportunity that we have this collaboration be-
tween WADA and FISU, especial-ly because FISU has the links with the national federations and the links with the universities and this is what WADA does not have.
the Programme’S FoCUS layS on Pre-venting doPing. are StUdent-ath-
leteS yoUr main groUP to FoCUS on For thiS aPProaCh?
We focus on athletes, on stu-dent-athletes but also on
students who are not athletes but who will give advice to the athletes. For instance I am a pro-fessor of law, so I am teaching anti-doping regulations to fu-ture lawyers and future sporting agents. It is very important that they are also aware of this pro-gramme.

Rob Cuppen, Director of University Sport at the Nijmegen

three PartiCiPantS reFleCt on the ForUm Fair that took PlaCe
yeSterday!
Is it the first time that you partici-pate in a FISU Forum? Yes! I had the
chance to attend the Gwangju Uni-versiades Conference last year, and it was an amazing experience, but this is my first time representing my country in a FISU Forum.
Et comment trouves-tu le con-cept du Forum? Vraiment bien.
What do you think of the con-cept? It is really interesting.
It meets exactly my expectations: lots of young people, lots of stu-dents and lots of ideas. The par-ticipants are encouraged to share their thoughts and are extremely involved in the conversations. This makes the debates more engaged and productive. Plus, the pro-gramme is quite well built: we have conferences dealing with broad top-ics such as anti-doping or ethics in sport all together. We therefore get some knowledge. And then we are split into groups to discuss on those topics and we can start making meaningful propositions.

monde.
Chaque délégation nationale a du
présenter sa Fédération nationale
du sport universitaire ainsi que la situa-
tion et les enjeux du sport universitaire
dans son pays d’origine. Cela a permis à
pays. Certaines ont même apporté avec
eux spécialités culinaires et goodies à
faire connaître!
