We have been involved in education and training for a couple of decades now, and the most common thought among school teachers involved in VET is “am I doing it right?” No doubt, you will understand the frustration of sitting through an audit, wondering whether what you have done is good enough, and you realise that there is more to teaching VET than you know.

TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment provides competencies required to:• deliver training in an industry area or area of subject matter expertise• conduct competency-based assessment in a range of contexts

Who we are

Bryan has broad education & training experience spanning two decades and three states. This includes management of VET in a number of secondary schools, including rectifying major non-compliances, expansions to scope and coordinating both internal and external audits.

His doctoral thesis explored whether assumptions about learning matched the actual experiences of students.

Chris has worked in Vocational Education and Training for more than 10 years, including teaching VET in schools. He has a keen interest in mentoring and online education. Chris has worked closely with Bryan in the development of this TAA course, and continues to develop and deliver online learning solutions for a range of clients.

Program Structure

This course is just for high school teachers.

Your course will be delivered in a blended format. We will make a personalised web portal for you. From here, you will access all of the resources you need, communicate with us, and monitor your progress. From here you will access our regular online tutorials and discussions, live help and links to all the other web resources that you will need.

Your learning materials will be highly integrated. This means that you will gain an holistic knowledge of how VET should work in your school. This means that you will save time. This means that you can get on with the many other things that you need to do.

Your assessment will be a combination of Integrated Tasks and Projects. Because each project is modeled in full from start to finish, you will be certain of what to do. Because all tasks have been highly tailored for Australian high school teachers, you can be confident that they will be relevant for you. You will be equipped to “get it right”.

If you are like most teachers, then you will use Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for half of the course. And, if you are like most teachers, then you will receive your qualification in about three months. Whatever your situation, we will negotiate the final date with you.
