Soror Kathleen Turner called the meeting to order at 12:03 p.m. with the ritualistic opening. There was a quorum present. Handouts were verified. Soror S. Spradley-Wadkins moved to adopt the agenda w/additions (54 for, 0 opposed, motion carried). Minutes for the previous meeting were read, Soror M. McGlothen-Sutton moved to accept the minutes as written (53 for, 0 opposed, motion carried).

Chair regarding the new processes to verify the CPA’s credentials and accommodations for refreshments during audits.

Sisterhood Luncheon (B. Curley) moved to use PayPal as a method to pay for a ticket/s for the Sisterhood Luncheon, a donation of $1000 to Dr. Haynes, incentive to highest ticket seller, and partnerships with youth programs and BREAD (46 for, 0 opposed, motion carried).

Summary of Committee Activities: To spread the word, we conducted 2 on-site recruiting events:
Sept 8th Young Women's Leadership Academy's (YWLA) Open House
Sept 19th FWISD College Night
During these 2 events, we identified more than 25 young ladies interested in the 2017 Miss Jabberwock
Scholarship Pageant. Additionally, we are working with Marc Acala at Wil Rogers to secure our venue
and make contract to host our Saturday, April 1st 40th Annual Miss Jabberwock Pageant. No deposit has
been made. We are asking each soror who can to please purchase at least 1 full page ad at $100 to be
showcased in this year's souvenir book, to commemorate our 40th celebration.
Upcoming Activities: Our official kickoff, will be held on Saturday, October 15th from 12 to 1pm at
Dunbar High School. We'll be distributing 2017 Miss Jabberwock packets, reviewing scholarship pageant
requirements, pointing out key workshop, collection, and rehearsal calendar dates, as well as hosting a
Q/A session to address any outstanding questions parents or participants may have.

word in your churches, schools, and other civic organizations.
Just a friendly reminder, to any committee member which has not attended a required Risk
Management training, there is still time. Consider attending one of the 2-hour webinar sessions or
attending the in-person session being facilitated prior to November's chapter meeting.

Summary of Committee Activities: Round Up was held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at H. F.
Stevens Middle School in Crowley, TX where Soror Kimberly Buckhalton is principal. There were 79
sorors in attendance: 62 existing chapter members, 17 visiting sorors. Nine sorors were reclaimed during
Round Up: Tamika Stewart-Williams, Carla Bright, Shenika Robertson, Marsha Bean, Clintonia Bryson,
Alice Scott, Jasmine Lowe, Kimberly Buckhalton and Roneisha Euins. An additional 10 sorors reinstated
between August and September: Kimberly Jackson-Buckhalton, Raquel Brown, Alishia Jones, Ashlea
Harper, Tamara Gulley, Machell Denson, Nicole H. Johnson, Paige Dupar-Turner, Valerie Warren-Payne
and Shirley Coggins, for a total of 19 reinstated sorors.
For the Louisiana flood victims, we collected $250 in gift cards, some women's underwear and feminine
hygiene products.
