How to Log into Blackboard if You Forgot Your Blackboard Password

Have you forgotten your Blackboard password?

This document will help you reset it and log back in.

Have you forgotten your Blackboard password? Here is how you can create a new one…

Go to the Blackboard login page at:

https://blackboard.swbts.edu

The page will look like this:

Click the Forgot Your Password? link.

The Lost Password page will open. The page looks like this:

The page contains two options:

1. The Username option

2. The Email Address option

Only use one option. Don’t fill out the information for both options.

For example, if you decide to use the USERNAME OPTION, enter your information in the

USERNAME OPTION fields only:

Make sure you enter your correct Blackboard username.1

Be sure to leave the fields blank in the EMAIL ADDRESS OPTION section and click the Submit

button at the bottom of the page.

You will find a link to the document on the Blackboard login page. Use the directions in that document to look up your Blackboard username on the Student Account Information page.

If you decide to use the EMAIL ADDRESS OPTION, enter your information in the EMAIL ADDRESS

OPTION fields only:

Make sure you enter your student email address in the Email field.2

Now, leave the USERNAME OPTION fields blank and click the Submit button at the bottom of

the page.

After you click the Submit button, the following message should appear on the Blackboard login

page:

Check your student email account. You should find an email with the subject “Lost Password

Notification” that contains a link to reset your password (part of the link has been blurred out):

Click the link.

A web page will open that looks like this:

Enter your new password in the Password and Verify Password fields. After you have done that,

click the Submit button.

A special login screen will open that looks like this:

Enter your Blackboard username and your new Blackboard password. Click the Login button to

enter Blackboard.
