a letter from our membership director
This summer has already started out extremely hot and I love to see many of our members enjoying the weather! The pool is off to a successful season
thanks to our lifeguard staff keeping everyone safe and happy. We have also seen record attendance at the swim aerobics! Anyone interested in a fun
workout a few times a week should definitely check out one of the classes.
We have several events scheduled over July. July 23rd is the Jamaican Pool Side Party, it is a great excuse to relax Caribbean Style for a few hours. I
have heard great reviews about this party, so I am sure it is not one anyone wants to miss. We are offering Kidz Klub twice this month! Friday, July 8th
and Saturday, July 23rd enjoy a night off on MCC!
I am happy to announce that membership continues to grow and last month we added three new members. There is always room for more, so continue to share the good word of MCC with family, friends, and colleagues. As always, I am happy to answer any questions a perspective new member may have or
give a tour of the facilities.
As I have recently enjoyed my first three months of being a part of the Manhattan Country Club team, I wanted to say thank you to all of you that have welcomed me and been patient while I adjusted to this position. It is an amazing benefit to work and enjoy the Club with such great members! It is
my goal to make sure every member has an enjoyable experience at Manhattan Country Club, please do not hesitate to reach out if I can help in
any way.
Be Well, Christina HodgesMembership Director/Office Manager

a letter from our grounds superintendent
It seems that summer came early this year. The month of June was very dry and hot, we went from May 27th to June 28th without rainfall. We worked
extremely hard to keep the course in the best shape we could during that time. We hope everyone enjoyed the Men’s Member/Guest and the Ladies Member/Member.
July is now here and we are hoping for some timely rainfall and NORMAL temperatures this month. We are also looking forward to preparing for the upcoming
golfing events this month.
Hope to see you on the course and as always, if you have any questions please call.

June was a great month with lots of sunshine and very warm temperatures. The members agree, because all outlets at the Club have been very busy. It is great to see the members utilizing their Club.
We’re just in the planning stages now, but I’m trying to organize a car show on Sunday, September 11th from 11-3. I know we have several members with unique and antique cars, trucks, race cars, hotrods and even motorcycles who would love to share them with all of us for the
afternoon. Please contact me if you’re interested in putting a vehicle in the show. My goal is to get at least 20-30 or more so it’s interesting for all to see. Since it will be on 9/11, I thought maybe we could have some type of fundraiser and donate to the Wounded Warrior Project or
something similar. By next month I’ll have more information and details to share and hopefully a list of those willing to enter their prize possessions.
The Pool has been really busy this year and the addition of the new furniture and slide have received many positive remarks. In an effort to help the guards do the best job possible keeping everyone safe, please help keep inexperienced swimmers out of the areas where they can’t touch. I’ve instructed the guards to test children who they feel should not be in the deep end by themselves without a life jacket. The test will consist of the life guard politely asking the children to swim from one side of the deep end to the other unassisted and to tread water for 15
seconds. If they can pass, they are more than welcome to use the diving board and to swim in those areas. The guards have also experienced several kids dunking each other on the slide or diving board and running on the pool deck. For their safety and the safety of everyone in or around the pool, please help us control these issues by speaking to your children on proper etiquette while at the pool. The main focus of the
guards is to prevent water emergencies and provide a safe environment around the pool area.
Manhattan Country Club is able to host and cater a long list of different types of events right here at your Club. Whether it is a banquet you are involved with or one you are able to refer to the Club, you can be assured your group will have a very positive experience with Chelsea’s
attention to all of the service details and Chef John’s excellent culinary offerings. For those that have booked events at the Club this year, we thank you. Banquets are an important profit center to the Food and Beverage Department at Manhattan Country Club.
We have a full calendar of event coming your way in the coming months. Scott has many tournament opportunities you can sign up for or perhaps schedule a lesson from him or Tim for anyone in the family. The club also has several parties and events you’ll want to be a part of.
Please sign up today and let us help you make some lasting memories of your time with family and friends at the Manhattan Country Club.
The Management and Staff of Manhattan Country Club are committed to continuous improvement and member satisfaction. Please let us know how we can make your experience better.
