Features

The Zealbox Backup Appliance provides small and

medium enterprises (SMEs) a high-performance, low

cost and easy to install solution to backup and restore

virtual machines (VMs) under VMware vSphere and

Microsoft Hyper-V.

With a powerful RAID controller, SAS expansion port, redundant

power supplies and optional iSCSI and Fibre Channel HBAs, the

Zealbox Backup Appliance provides the comfort of a conventional

storage server. In addition, the ZBA bundles server services with

storage capacity and provides the ability to backup virtual machi-

nes outside of the virtualization server.

The Veeam software is very easy to use and is supported by

wizards, for example to set up backup jobs. Microsoft Windows

2012 R2 with Hyper-V is already installed. VMware vCenter and

other applications can be installed separately and the Zealbox

Backup Appliance can be used in this manner for additional

purposes.

Veeam Backup & Replication provides fast, flexible and reliable

recovery of virtual machines and data. New in Veeam Backup &

Replication version 9:

The Zealbox Backup Appliance is based on an open platform with

high performance hardware and excellent expandability.

Only high quality components from manufacturers such as Intel,

Supermicro, Broadcom and Areca are used. The ZBA can be exten-

ded by JBODs in capacity and can be fully integrated flexibly into

any network.

The basic model ZBA.10 features an Intel Xeon E3 processor, a

maximum of 32 GB RAM and four Intel 1 Gbps Ethernet ports.

The larger models can accommodate up to two Intel Xeon E5 pro-

cessors and up to 2 TB ECC 3DS LRDIMM. They can be expanded

with additional Fibre Channel, LAN and SAS ports.
