School Reopens

To restart the session with great zeal the

students were given a warm welcome by teachers who kick started the morning assembly with full fervor. Excited students

waited for the upcoming events to be performed by the teachers. Prayer then

morning song, thought, show and tell, amazing fact, and news as the protocol

follows. An entertaining skit emphasizing on global warming and afforestation was

presented by our efficient staff.

My Dear Friends,

I‟d like to welcome each of you to a year of continuing inquiry and exploration at Disha School. Our school team has been hard at work preparing for opening day. The teaching team has been in and out all summer preparing for the start ahead. The excitement around the building is so positive I can‟t wait to start! Each year we work towards another opening day and each year our efforts are always met with pure joy and excitement of our children – it is a day like no other and truth be told it is one of my most favorite of the school year. Each school year begins with renewal seemingly everywhere. New start, new grade, new teachers and many new school initiatives to enjoy – this year‟s crop in

the learning garden is but one example and our new sand box another.

In my second year, I look forward to work with school community; we explore new avenues of inquiry based learning. I am eager to get your input through any medium as to how these innovations impact our school and culture. We have more to do and I look forward to work with you and your involvement in our school to continue to make DCHSS the best school!

Green Day Celebration (Pre-Primary)

Green Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the Pre Primary Wing on 20th June, 2017. The Pre-Primary students and teachers came to school dressed in pretty green attires and looked eco friendly. The classrooms were beautifully decorated in green theme and all the green objects from a child‟s immediate surroundings were brought to the class rooms. They were taught the identification and recognition of green fruits, vegetables, leaves and trees. Many activities and games pertaining to green colour were organised for the kids . Children brought green snacks and eatables in their tiffins. The classrooms were beautifully decorated with flash cards, balloons & green objects .It was a

practical learning experience for the children.

Just A Minute Competition (Class I-V)

With an aspiration to stimulate the oratory skills of students. Disha School has organized Just A Minute Competition on 21st June.

International Yoga Day

The International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. DCHSS, Raipur celebrated the International Yoga Day on 21st June 2017. The students of class VI to XII with the teachers performed Yoga between 8.50 am and 9.00 am led by yoga trainer Ms. Trisha Sharma , Mrs Anjali Goswami and Mr. Kailash Sahu from DCHSS. A team of Qualified Yoga Instructor were invited from Ramchandra Mission to celebrate International Yoga Day. Yoga started with chanting the Gayatri mantra. Different Yoga postures like Surya Namaskar, Anulom Vilom,Vrikshasana , Trikonaasana , Pawan Muktaasana, finally ended with Pranayam and meditation. These asanas were taught to bring about holistic approach to health and well being among the students. On this day our 24 Cadets also went at NIT, Raipur with their caretaker Ms. Trisha Sharma

to celebrate International Yoga Day.

Calligraphy Competition To improve presentation skills and to inculcate habit of good handwriting among students Literary Society of DCHSS, Raipur organized English Calligraphy Competition (House wise). All the students from Class VI to VIII participated in it. They exhibited their writing skills in different forms of Calligraphy like Lamar Pen, Aphhrodite Slim Pro, Humming bird etc. The assessment was done by the members of Literary Society on the basis of writing style, curves and patterns, legibility and neatness, beautification etc.

What’s The Correct Word Literary Society of DCHSS, Raipur undertook the initiative to organize “WHAT‟S THE GOOD WORD COMPETITION” (House wise) for the rising stars of Classes IX to XI on 24th June 2017 in order to boost their confidence level. The students were given puzzles and they worked thoughtfully to find the word. It was a great learning experience for them. All the students participated with full of zeal and enthusiasm. The winners were appreciated and motivated. Result of the competition for rising stars is a following. 1st Winner - Red House (85) 1st Runner up – Yellow House (75) 2nd Runner up – Blue House (64) 3rd Runner up - Green House (60)

Eid Celebration

Eid the festival that upholds the spirit of brotherhood and love, was celebrated on June 24, 2017. The celebrations included dance performance by children on a 'Allah Hi Allah, enactment 'All are One' by students and a song. Children enjoyed the customary Sewaiyan. They were very happy to receive chocolate coin and white caps as Eidi.

Pre-Primary and Primary Teacher’s

Workshop by Next Education. Next Education conducted a workshop for Pre-Primary and Primary teachers at Hotel Mayura on 24th June,17. Mrs.Monika Sharma, Ms.Kanchan, Ms.Monica Bhattacharya and Ms.Pratiksha Yadu from Pre-Primary section and Mrs.D.Indu, Mrs.Ranjana Dey, Mrs.Taniya Makhija and Mrs. Shweta Girpunje from Primary section have attended the workshop on topic Pedagogy Practice and got the certificates also.

Project Summer Fruit Bonanza (Nursery to Class-V) To inculcate the habit of taking fruits everyday, children must be aware of the various kinds the nature has gifted us with. In this activity elegant baskets of fruits were exhibited. How can one overlook the Summer Special juicy and ripe Mangoes children feast upon? Parents were invited to witness the show. Various songs and

rhymes on fruits were part of the programme.

CLASS XII We are delighted to announce the best batch average

(Best of Five) for class 12 Science in School history. 40 students appeared for class XII Science in March 2017.

The batch improved on their predecessor by more than

12.6%.

Megha Lodh (PCM) tops the batch with 87.6 %, closely

followed by Sakshi Soni (84%), Tamanna Baid (79.6%),

Chayan Devangan (64.4%) and Srikant Kosariya (63.8%)

Disha Naidu (PCB) ) tops the batch with 80.6 %, closely followed by Rishika Tripathi (78.4%), Rahul Jaiswal

(77.2%), Kasturi Singnapure (73) and Natasha

Bansode(63.4).
