The Big "I" Goal-line Offense

The first back is lined up on the QB's butt. The second back is lined up on the first back's butt.The TB is lined up on the second back's butt.

Some coaches may like a toe to toe alignment. Your first back must be a TOUGH kid who likesto block. It is his block on the end that is vital in making the power play work. There will be adouble team between the playside end and tackle on the power. If the defensive tackle slants

inside or is lined up inside the offensive tackle, the end goes to the next level and blocks the LB.The play side tackle steps with his inside foot on the power.

The beauty of this offense is that if the defense overloads one side, you can check off to theother side. If a team likes to run a defense with the tackle lined up on the inside eye of theoffensive tackle, it is a TD!

Whenever you get inside the 5 yard line, you need a goal-line philosphy. There are not manyplays because you don't want to choose from a dozen goal-line plays. Practice 3 plays andperfect them before making additions. Get your team to believe in this offense and you willbe successful. The power play should be your #1 bread & butter play on the goal-line.

26 - 27 Power

The 4 back runs to the butt of the tackle & gets an inside out block.

The 3 back leads up in the hole and will most likely block the LB.The QB opens up at 45 degrees.The TB CANNOT run inside the tackle.Backside tackle pulls and hits first jersey as cleanup block.

28 - 29 Toss

End aims for the outside armpit of the defensive end.The 4 back runs a path 1 yard outside the end.QB reverse pivots



32 - 33 Blast

22 - 23 Blast

QB reverse pivots & hands off as deep as possible.The 4 back blocks the end.The 3 back leads up in the hole & looks for the LB.

Aim for the outside number.

QB opens up playside.Same blocking as 22-23 blast for the line.

QB Sneak

Line splits are toe-to-toe. Be sure there are no gaps.Wedge block on the center.All linemen step with their inside foot.Practice this play against air as there is no need to risk injury.QB should keep his shoulders square.



26-27 Power Pass

22-23 Iso

QB reverse pivot.Same blocking as 22-23 blast for the line.This play is just like the 22 Blast. However,

this play calls for 2 lead blockers and no kick out of the end.It is just another way to attack the same hole.

QB reverse pivots & hands off as deep as possible.The 4 back blocks the end.The 3 back leads up in the hole & looks for the LB.

Aim for the outside number.



Goal-line Pass

This play includes Zoom motion from the 4 back.Snap the ball when he is a few yards beyond the TE.Both the TE & 4 back run inside routes.The 3 back slides under both of them into the flat.The TB blocks the end.QB fakes 26 and continues roll out. Get shoulders square.

29-28 Toss Naked

QB reverse pivots, fakes toss, & sprints into bootleg getting shoulders square.Right TE blocks end for 1-2 seconds and releases for pass.TB fakes receiving toss and then continues around into route.4 & 3 back lead block.Left TE gets a bump block and then releases into route.
