    The 2014 FIFA World Cup is to be the 20th FIFA WorldCup, an international association football tournamentthat is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13July 2014.

    On 7 March 2003, FIFA announced that the

    tournament would be held in South America for thefirst time since Argentina hosted the competitionin 1978, in line with its policy of rotating the right tohost the World Cup amongst different

    confederations. On 3 June 2003, the South AmericanFootball Confederation CONMEBOL announcedthat Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia wanted to hostthe 2014 World Cup finals. By 17 March 2004,the CONMEBOL associations had votedunanimously to adopt Brazil as their sole candidate.

    The logo is called "Inspiration", and was created by Brazilianagency Africa. The design stems from an iconic photograph of threevictorious hands together raising the world's most famous trophy.     Fuleco, the mascot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup

    The tatu-bola, an armadillo that defends itself frompredators by rolling up into a ball, was chosen as the officialmascot by FIFA at a ceremony organized by LOC (LocalOrganizer Committee) on 11 September 2012. The mascotwas first introduced to the public during a segment of thenews show Fantstico. The name was chosen after a publicvoting process and announced during the show on 25

    November. 1.7 million people and more than 48 per centvoted for Fuleco, ahead of Zuzeco (31 per cent) and Amijubi(21 per cent), making it the unanimous winner. The mascotproved hugely popular within Brazil, with approximately 89per cent Brazilians having seen the mascot and has beenseen as a likeable character - he scores an average of 7.3 outof 10 on appeal.
