Hi! We’re Sara and Francesca, we’re Italian. We go to the same school but we don’t attend the same class (Francesca is older!). We both love sports, especially football, and we support Juventus!

In this project we show to you some Italian words about football, our opinions and Juventus story.

The Italian for football is calcio. A lot of people like this sport, in fact is the most important one in Italy. But other people pound it away – they say that footballers (calciatori) earn too much money! I think that is true, but no one can change our opinion: football is the best sport in the world!

We usually play football matches (partite) on Sundays, but every weekend some teams play on Saturdays. The “big match” is on Sunday night and Inter, Milan or Juventus usually play.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––Actually, Italian football is not the best. There are

many scandals and supporters aren’t polite: for example, some supporters of S.S.C. Naples throw many stones to the bus of Juventus. But Juventus supporters aren’t correct too: they always sing stadium chants against habitants of Naples. In the bargain, there are many racist stadium chants.

For us, the best championship is the English one:

stadiums are perfect, the supporters are quiet and there aren’t dangerous situations. In Premier League there are also some of the best teams and best players in the world… But there’s a flaw: Juventus doesn’t play there!
