RC Hope Bringing Quality to Low-Income Housing
Concept Statement The two-unit dwelling at Lords Street is intended to highlight the character of the neighborhood and city it calls
home. Its light, open and airy concept mirrors the characteristics of the expanses of water and lush green parks that
define the community. The residents will feel a sense of freedom when they walk in their front door.
Because these residents are single parents, the design will be highly focused on keeping the environment both safe
and functional. The main living areas will focus on visibility and family interaction while private areas encourage
personal privacy and sense of security for the entire family. Applied universal principles throughout will make the
space livable for everyone.
The look of these spaces will be transitional in nature to appeal to parents ranging from 20’s to 40’s as well as the
children living with them. A palette of natural textures will be found in the flooring and finishes of the homes,
bringing comfort to the open spaces. An overall neutral color scheme, but with a range of values, will allow for the
best possible agreement with any family’s belongings without taking anything away from the architectural interest.
The final layers of wood, tile and textiles will leave each unit feeling naturally refreshing.
Quality, in conjunction with function and aesthetics, is the overall focus in putting all of this together. Where others
have failed to provide strong, long-lasting designs for supportive housing, RC Hope will succeed. Building with
materials and finishes that have longer life-cycles and manageable maintenance will make using the space more
enjoyable for the residents and more economically friendly, in the long term, for the owner.
The first of RC Hope’s scattered-site, low-income housing options will present an option in supportive housing that
surpasses the quality and value of many others before it. Everything about the project will be executed based on
careful research and core values. The site location, combined with the final character, function and aesthetics of the
space, allows the families that live here, an inspirational step toward the American dream.

Haute Dish A Modern Northwoods Dining Experience
Concept Statement
The theme of Haute Dish enhances the up North ambience with a modern twist
that attracts clientele of generations old and new. This concept focuses on the
warmth and comfort of the Northwoods. Warm hues of nature with splashes of
deep red make the setting naturally warm and comforting. Rough sawn woods,
birch bark accents, and densely patterned fabrics exude natural textures and add
visual density to the space. The existing architectural features will be highlighted
amidst wall treatments of intermingling wood and stone. From the weathered
booths, to the plush lounge seating, this space will envelop its visitors in the charm
of the North.

Concept Statement
With the opening of a new satellite branch, National One Financial is looking to introduce a new image that serves to signify the success of their clients and the
stability of their financial institution. The strength of stone and metal combined with rich wood grains will provide a sound structural integrity. Textile selections
warm the scene with textural qualities that suggest comfort and aid in acoustic privacy. Ample lighting, both natural and artificial, will give users a sense of
security and an open quality emulating the banks honest approach to finances. A plan that highlights each of banks amenities in a separate yet equal manner,
will allow every customer to feel as though their needs are of the utmost importance. The final design, incorporating a new upward reaching logo, will indicate a
company that shows respect and concern while aiding their clients in achieving their highest hopes.

X10 Interactive Developing Visual Solutions That Are Fresh, Original and Unique
Concept Statement
X10 Interactive, based out of Dallas, Texas, is one of the United States’ top 50 web design and corporate branding
companies. Their proven success has led to their expansion into the Sausalito area. A recently purchased building on
the marina boasts beautiful views of both the mountains and the sea. The company wishes to make the interior of the
facility match their view while incorporating interior finishes and furnishings that emphasize their mission to “create
visual solutions that are fresh, original and unique.”
A subtle marina theme will help anchor X10 into their new site. Flowing and energetic, the lines of the architectural
features and furniture will add a simple, yet dynamic quality to the space. A desire for bright colors will be satisfied by
incorporating the vibrant blues, greens and white of the sea bringing a fresh simplicity and openness when combined
with glass partitions and reflective chrome surfaces. Walls surfaces in natural seaside textures, when united with those
ultra-smooth surfaces, provided an integrated design as efficient as the services X10 supplies fir its clients. The
incorporation of natural plant and animal life will continue that textural quality with additional physical and psychological
benefits.
This new facility will go beyond quality aesthetics to emphasize quality in function. By incorporating lightweight and
adaptable furnishings as well as numerous technological amenities, the design will support a collaborative work
environment. Whether in the president’s office or in the lobby, work surfaces and hookups keep the environment
mobile, showing why X10 has that international appeal. Specialized ceiling and lighting design will set up the space for
both work and play by providing natural, task and ambient lighting with adaptability.
In the end, X10 Interactive will have a facility that exemplifies the image and performance of a cultural and
innovative business.

Concept Statement
Xeno Consulting, located in Avignon, France, is a subsidiary of a greater U.S. consulting firm. The company has
recently purchased a 15,000 square foot building in the heart of the city from which they hope to expand their business
in the traditional clothing market. Taking their parent companies lead, Xeno would like to refit this new facility to meet
their needs while focusing on sustainability. An entire interior renovation will focus on achieving the USGBC’s LEED CI
Gold Certification standards as well as U.S. standards for ADA compliance. The accessible and environmentally
friendly design will come together in a design that is open and refreshing, yet comfortably conservative.
A clean, simple and structured design will give a timeless feel to the space. Finishes, fixtures and furnishings bathed in
plenty of both natural and artificial lighting will emphasize straight lines that help the space feel more open. These crisp
lines will be highlighted, trimmed, or accessorized with natural textures, metallic accents, and well tailored
enhancements that lend the space a smart and professional quality. A fresh color scheme will focus on vivid whites and
neutrals with accents of rich oranges and shimmering golds that bring it all together with a polished flair.
Many considerations ensure the Xeno is doing their part in conserving and serving the environment. By focusing on
available renewable energy sources, responsive electrical and HVAC systems (i.e. daylighting controls, demand based
ventilation), and selecting building materials and furniture that are reusable, renewable, and/or recyclable, Xeno can
stand out in the community as an organization that is responsible advocate for their world and their community.

Concept Statement
Organic Artistry is a garden center with a mission of preserving and
creating historic beauty. The design of its location in Alamo Heights
will emphasize the Spanish roots of Texas with a beautiful rustic
presence. The concept focuses on the raw textures and warmth of
Spanish style using hues of mauve, terra cotta, greens, and browns.
Dark, distressed woods and stucco walls continue the true character
of the existing building. The natural look will be complemented by the
incorporation of decorative wrought iron displays flowing with local
greenery and vibrant artwork, bathed in light reminiscent of the sun.
From the ceiling beams to the weathered floor, Organic Artistry will be
a space of naturally inviting indulgence.

Concept Statement
This restaurant design allows visitors to
realize the Moroccan appreciation for
exquisite detail and plush comforts in a
manner suited to typical American dining.
The dining area utilizes beautifully printed
throw pillows and handcrafted lighting for
that intimate appeal. Seating
arrangements have been raised from the
traditional low Moroccan seating to
heights that support more natural
ergonomics as well as ADA compliance.
Islamic arches and patterns display a
proud heritage without religious
symbolism so often found in Moroccan
interiors. This allows visitors of all faiths to
comfortably embrace the beauty and
bounty of this bold culture.
