THE WORD OF THE PRESIDENTIn these troubled times, photography remains a mean of escape, it allows us to give free rein to our imagination, to exchange ideas while waiting for better days.

Image Without Borders honours its authors. The call for photos have allowed us to select a number of photographers who will exhibit in different regions of France: Atout Sud, Chemins de Photos, L’Île d’Olonne, ...In addition, some of the collections made available by the Festival de La Gacilly, Atout Sud and Chemins de Photos should be exhibited in Montignac and in particular at Lascaux 4, Ile d’Olonne, Mayet, Lehon, Dinan, Baden in Austria ...

Image Sans Frontière will travel to Phot’Aubrac in September with "Lotus", a series by Chinese photographers. Regard Ventoux Baronnies with "Hymn to Life" by Vietnamese photographers, is postponed to 2021.

In Italy, Veniero Rubboli organizes the 7th World Photography Exhibition of the women photographers of Image wit-hout Borders. Thanks to all those who participated. This exhibition will travel to other places in Italy and Europe.

Image without Borders invites you to participate in an exhibition in China on the theme "Horse". The call for photos is sent to everyone by e-mail and can also be found on the Image Without Borders’ website.

The website is changing, you will find information, news, elements concerning the labels and the list of labelled exhi-bitions, distinctions, memberships, magazines, the World cup catalogue, 124 pages of amazing photographs, always available...The procedure to put your photos in the members’ gallery will be sent to you soon by email and will be available on the website.

I remind you that you can find us on Facebook: Image Sans Frontière. Don’t hesitate to post your photos, information about photography, your exhibitions and publications... Your comments and your "Like" encourage the authors. We also publish the competitions with Label ISF, and the distinctions obtained by our members. You can share our page on your wall.

ISF places its stamp (labels) on many international exhibitions of international renown. In order to make us known to the fairs which do not yet have the ISF label, we are going to send them a flyer.

The General Assembly, scheduled for June in Ile d'Olonne, has been postponed to a later date. A newsletter will be sent for confirmation.Due to events related to the pandemic which affects us all, certain events may be postponed or canceled.

Image sans Frontière met à l’honneur ses auteurs. Les appels à photos ont permis de sélectionner un certain nombre de photographes qui exposeront dans différentes régions de France : Atout Sud, Chemins de Photos, L’Île d’Olonne, … De plus, certaines collections mises à disposition par le Festival de La Gacilly, Atout Sud et Chemins de Photos devraient être exposées à Montignac et notamment à Lascaux 4, à l’Île d’Olonne, à Mayet, à Lehon, à Dinan, à Baden en Autriche…

ADEUS, JOAÕ! JOAO TABORDANous avons appris le décès de notre ami portugais Joaõ Taborda, survenu fin janvier après de longs

mois d’hospitalisation.Un fidèle du monde des photographes amateurs, toujours partant pour la cause de la photographie, il

se voyait régulièrement récompensé dans les nombreux concours auxquels il participait.Il fut Président du jury de la 6e World Cup organisée par ISF en 2019.

Nous garderons toujours le souvenir de Joaõ et de son épouse Fàtima qui l’accompagnait souvent dans ses voyages photographiques.

In late January, we learned of the passing of our Portuguese friend Joaõ Taborda who died after being hospitalized formany months.A faithful member of the world of amateur photographers, he always espoused the cause of photography, and was regularly rewarded in the many competitions he entered. In 2019, he chaired the Portuguese jury of the 6th World Cup organized by ISF.

We will always fondly remember Joaõ and Fàtima, his wife, who often accompanied him on his photographic travels.

CONSTANTINOS AVGEROPOULOS GreeceI’m an amateur photographer, living in Athens, Greece. I love chasing the light and shadows and shoot street and people mostly. I started in 1989 shooting film, when everything was analog. Soon after the first digital cameras came out, I dived into the digital era of photography.

To me photography is all about expression and creativity. I find myself living and breathing photography every moment, as a mean of communicating the way I see the world and at the same time a way to express myself to the world through it. Photography speaks when words are not enough and it happens first and foremost in my head and heart and then comes the click. Ultimately, it is a universal language that connects me to the world and the world to me, creating an unbreakable bond, a circle of Life.

Je suis photographe amateur, vivant à Athènes, en Grèce. J’aime chercher la lumière, les ombres, photographier la rue et surtout les gens. J’ai commencé à photographier en 1989 en utilisant le film, quand tout était analogique. Peu après la sortie des premiers appareils photo numériques, j’ai plongé dans l’ère du numérique.

Pour moi, la photographie est une question d’expression et de créativité. Je me sens vivre et respirer la photographie à chaque instant, comme un moyen de communiquer ma façon de voir le monde et en même temps un moyen de m’exprimer au monde à travers lui. La photographie parle quand les mots ne suffisent pas et cela arrive d’abord dans ma tête et mon coeur, puis vient le déclic. En fin de compte, c’est un langage universel qui me relie au monde et le monde à moi, créant un lien incassable, un cercle de vie.

LELLA BERETTA ITALYLella Beretta, graduated in Philosophy at the University of Milan, began as an amateur photographer in 1973 and as a professional in 1976. In the same year she approached the world of "artistic" Photography by participating in prestigious exhibitions and Fiaf competitions.

In 1979 she received her first major award, the AFIAP oIn 2001, instead, she received an International award, the EFIAP. She created a personal collection of Photographic works titled "Filosofia per Immagini", which included around eighty 70x100 canvas that were shown in prestigious Italian exhibition halls including the Palazzo dei Duchi in Taormina.

In 2002 she held her first International traveling exhibition in the four most important cities of South Africa: Joannesbourg, Pretoria, Durban and CapeTown. She started a photographic experience with a large tour operator

that lasted four years and allowed her to photograph 23 resorts among the most beautiful in the world and to create catalogs and advertising posters of the environments in which the villages were located.

In December 2011 and in April 2012 she made two exhibitions in New York. Her pictures, Black and White before and Color after, in a big size, were exposed in the Meat Packing District of Manhattan and they were such a success that the prestigious Artistic Gallery "Agora" in New York invited her to be part of its team of international artists and to exhibit her works along with famous painters and sculptors worldwide.

In May 2013, while this exhibition in the Agora Gallery was taking place, one of her picture entitled "Amici per la pelle", a photograph which is more than anything else a message of "brotherhood", was offered and accepted as a gift by President Obama, symbol of racial equality.

During October of the same year, that very picture was given to the Vatican and accepted by Pope Francis, religious and moral representative of the same values.

The following year, she was invited by a group of American organizers to have an exhibition in a gallery located in the heart of Rome along with other artistic excellences in various fields including Fashion.

In 2012 she reached the bronze Efiap level, in 2014 the silver Efiap one and in 2016 she became the first Italian woman to receive the EFIAP GOLD. The Presidenza del Consiglio of Turin gave her the assignment for an artistic interpretive work on the "Best artisans of Piemonte" which then became a book and a traveling exhibition.

From 2012, she worked on a photographic project, only completed in 2017. This project is called "Fairy Tales" and it

tells Tales of contemporary fairies, enhancing an ethereal kind of "beauty", far from nowadays standards and framed in

picturesque and suggestive landscapes. These pictures of female faces and beautiful landscapes achieved resounding success in international competitions and they were used as cover arts of some artistic magazines. The American magazine IDEA realized a thorough interview with Lella Beretta telling and explaining the artistic path of the photographer and the birth of the Fairy Tales collection.

At the beginning of 2016, Italian President Sergio Mattarella during a visit in two cities of Piemonte, Varallo and Vercelli, praised two pictures included in the Fairy Tales collection describing glimpses of this two towns in an original and creative way. In 2017 the Fairy Tales exhibition was officially born, with 50 big canvas framed like real pictorial works that started from Vercelli to travel internationally. In addition to the exhibition, in 2018 Dodici Dicembre Associazione Onlus published "Immagini e Parole", an anthology of the most beautiful Lella Beretta’s pictures, choosing not only from the Fairy Tales collection but from the whole artist’s portfolio.

EXPO "AFRIQUE" Expo "Afrique" à l’Abbaye de Léhon.Léhon Audio Photoclub accueille depuis deux ans une des expositions "Images sans frontière" pour la plus grande satisfaction des milliers de visiteurs qui fréquentent l’Abbaye. Les retours sont tous très élogieux, on ne va pas s’arrêter en si bon chemin.Cette année 2020, nous aurons la chance de présenter l’exposition "Afrique" qui ornera les murs du cloître de l’Abbaye toute la saison culturelle de la ville de Dinan.

Les lotusPour tous les chinois, les motifs décoratifs tel que la fleur de lotus, en dehors de leurs qualités esthétiques ou visuelles, sont porteurs de sens et de tradition.Le lotus est symbole de pureté et de perfection. Il représente une certaine force de caractère, (associé à une personne qui, face aux difficultés, conserve son optimisme). La fleur de lotus est aussi le symbole de l’amour. Les fleurs, les graines et les racines de lotus sont très utilisées dans les mariages chinois.Le lotus est la seule plante aquatique dont la fleur est au-dessus de l’eau contrairement aux nénuphars et autres cousins dont la fleur flotte sur l’eau. Cette image rejoint celle du Bouddha si léger qu’il repose sur un chat au-dessus du sol.Un collectif de photographes chinois faisant partie d’Image Sans Frontière, a proposé cet ensemble de photos sur le sujet du lotus. Elles différent les unes des autres par leur cadrage et l’approche de chaque photographe

Lotus flowers,For all Chinese people, decorative motifs such as the lotus flower, apart from their aesthetic or visual

qualities, carry meaning and tradition.The lotus is a symbol of purity and perfection. It represents a certain strength of character, (associated with a person who, in the face of difficulties, retains his optimism). The lotus flower is also the symbol of love. Lotus flowers, seeds and roots are widely used in Chinese weddings.The lotus is the only aquatic plant whose flower is above the water unlike water lilies and other cousins whose flower floats on the water. The lotus above the water is represents the Buddha so light that he rests on a cat above the ground.A group of Chinese photographers, part of Image Sans Frontière, has proposed this set of photos on the subject of the lotus. They differ from one another by their framing and the approach of each photographer.

Veniero Rubboli, ISF in Italy, organises the 7th International Photography Exhibition open to women photographersfrom the whole world who are members of Image Sans Frontière. The photographs will be exhibited in Italy, at Riccione in the Oltremare Park.
