Paper submissionThe symposium will feature oral and poster presentations.

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts via electronic-mail or through to ISSEEP secretariat that will be peer-reviewed. Those accepted for oral presentations are required to submit the full-paper version. The abstracts and full-papers will be included in the symposium proceeding.

The abstract, in MS word format not more than 1 page of A4 size paper, includes a maximum of 5 key-words and clearly indicates the purpose of the work, approach and results. The abstract(s) is in a single column with all margins of 2.5 cm, single space type written form and must include :-Full title of the paper (12-point font size, Times New

Roman font)-Full names of the author and co-author(s) (12-point font size,

DescriptionIncreasingly vast energy consumption and on the other hand

depletion of fossil fuel reserves lead the world into global energy crisis. In addition, global climate change and environmental pollution mainly due to gas emission from fossil fuel combustion have been a global concern. Therefore, more efficient and clean energy utilization and at the same time development of new and renewable energy sources become inevitably for providing sustainable energy and clean environment. As a part of technology development, the use of catalyst in these areas of applications shows a great importance.

To be aware of the latest development and trends of technology for sustainable energy and environment protection especially in the region of South East Asia, as well as to communicate and to discuss the cutting-edge scientific results among researchers, engineers and practitioners, the Indonesian Catalyst Society (MKI) and the Sustainable Energy and Environment (SEE) Forum in collaboration with Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia will host the International Symposium on Sustainable Energy and Environment Protection (ISSEEP) 2009 which is scheduled to be
