APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SURFACE PREPARATION :

Remove laitance and all loose material including dust, oil and grease to achieve a sound substrate. Steel surfaces should be free of mill scale and rust. Surfaces to be grouted should be free of standing water and in surface dry condition. Formwork must be designed with sufficient hydrostatic head to ensure grout flow into and across the grouting area and should be made grout tight. Apply a silicone based release agent to the formwork surfaces which will effect release after grout has hardened. Alternatively use thick polythene sheet firmly fixed to the formwork.

Mixing

FLOWGROUT EPX Epoxy Grout has 3 containers per pack. Allcontainers must be used to complete the mix. Pour all of the resin and hardener into a clean mixing vessel. Mix with a slow speed drill and Grout Stirrer until homogeneous. Slowly add the filler to the mixed resin and hardener. When all the filler has been added, mix for a further two minutes until an even colour is achieved. Larger volume may be mixed using a forced action mixer such as the Creteangle.

Placing

Place grout continuously into the work area from one side only. Where further mixes are required to fill the void, these should be prepared in sequence such that pouring is continuous. Place mixed grout within 20 minutes after start of mixing. Place in gap widths between 35mm and 75mm. Do not disturb the grouted section until the grout has hardened. Tools and mixing equipment should be cleaned with Solvent before grout has hardened. Set grout can only be removed mechanically.

FLOWGROUT EPX Epoxy Grout may be placed at temperatures between 5°C and 45°C. For placing outside this range contact the Technical Service Department.

Curing

• No special curing is required.

K5 INJGROUTTWO PART LOW VISCOSITY EPOXY RESIN INJECTION GROUT

DESCRIPTION

K5INJGROUT consists of a base component containing solvent free epoxide resin plus a low viscosity liquid hardener. K5INJGROUT Grout may be placed by free flow under gravity or may be injected using a suitable hand or mechanical pump. Grouting of gap dimensions 1 mm to 10mm may be easily achieved. The system gives rapid strength gain obtaining mechanical properties several times those of high quality concrete..

USES

Used for crack injection and for filling cold joints Filling of base plate and bolt pockets, Structures, where mechanical properties and chemical resistance is required. For heavy duty support beneath and transporter rails, drop forges, mobile loads. For heavy reciprocating machines, repairs, rehabilitation of structures showing hair line cracks eg columns, beams, gutters, and bridges etc.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Surface Preparation

Ensure that grouting surfaces are free from dust and oily contamination. Small gaps may be blown out using clean dry compressed air. Steel should be free of rust and flaking mill scale. All work surfaces must be essentially dry.

Mixing

Pour all of the hardener from the container into the base container which has sufficient volume to act as the mixing vessel. Thoroughly mix the twocomponents until a homogenous thixotropic product is achieved.

Placing

Apply K5INJGROUT by gravity feed or by gunning or pumping into the cracks. Injection flanges may be attached along the crack length at nominal 150mm intervals, using K5INJGROUT. K5INJGROUT is also suitable for facing off vertical cracks.

Curing

No special curing practice is required.

K-5 STONEHARD 60 is a blend of specially processed cement and special fillers, free from corrosive substances and additives. USES:Bolt pockets and base plate grouting of all equipment, Crane, stanchion bases and all type of machinery with dynamic load. DESCRIPTION: K-5 STONEHARD 60 is based on specially processed cement containing fillers and additives. K-5 STONEHARD 60 is supplied as ready to use grout requiring addition of precise quantity of water at site (3.750 to 4 Litre/25 Kg Grout). K-5 STONEHARD 60 is suitable for gap widths of between 10mm - 50mm. For width less than 10mm K-5 STONEHARD EP resin grout can be used (see separate data sheet for more information) for thickness in excess of 50mm. (say 75-100), cleaned washed 10mm aggregates can be incorporated at the rate of 50% - 100% of the quantity of grout used. PROPERTIES:

The water needs to be precisely measured and 25 Kg of K-5 STONEHARD 60 will require 3.750 liter for pourable consistency (W/P - 0.15) and 4 liters for flowable consistency (W/P - 0.16). Yield per 25 Kg: 12.5 lit. Approx: Pourable Life: 20 minutes: Application temp. : 10oC to 40oC; Expansion (% Vol): 0.8 to 1.5%. Flow: 20 to 25 cm on flow table. 315% at flow consistency.

INSTRUCTION FOR USE:

MIXING : Mechanical mixing using a grout mixer or freefall concrete mixer is recommended. Hand mixing is permitted.

(1) Place 80% of the water required in a concrete mixer [100% in case of a grout mixer]. (2) Slowly add the required amount of K-5 STONEHARD 60 while continuously stirring for 1 minute. Add balance quantity of water (20%) and mix for 3 to 5 minutes. The mixed grout must be placed immediately and grouting must be continuing till the cavity is filled.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

(1) All contaminated surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly by chemical or mechanical methods.(2) All bolt pockets and under bases must be free from dust, laitance and of sound substrate. If needed, substrate with water to allow for full absorption for at least 24 hours. Just before the grouting is to commence, all water must be removed completely leaving the surface only damp.

BOLT POCKETS: Depending on the size of the bolt pockets, 50-100% cleaned 10mm sound aggregates by weight of grout consumption may be incorporated to economies on grout and also to keep the heat of hydration low. When the thickness exceeds 100mm-150mm our technical department may be contacted for advice. There must be at least 12 hours gap between bolt pocket and under base plate grouting sequence.

UNDERBASE PLATE: Leak proof strong formwork must be provided to withstand operational stresses while grouting and all edges must be sealed with K-5 STONEHARD 60 of trowelling consistency to arrest the grout from flowing out of formwork. The sealed edges must be strong enough to resist fluid grout (at least 1-2 hours after sealing). Hydrostatic head 150-250mm must be provided to enable the free flowing of grout under base plate. Grouting must be continuous until the cavity is completely filled to the desired level. The exposed areas must be kept to a minimum. 100-150mm on the grouting side and 50mm on the opposite side. All exposed area must be restricted by covering with wooden planks or polythene sheets with send sprinkled on top of the sheet to avoid cracks on the grouted surface. CURING:

3-4 hours after grouting, all exposed areas must be cured with wet Hessian cloths (keep wet always) or water ponding wherever possible for minimum 7 days.

PACKING & SHELF LIFE:

l25 Kg. K-5 STONEHARD 60 is supplied in lined HDPE bag l K-5 STONEHARD 60 has a shelf life of 6 months, if stored in a dry enclosed area in unopened bags. HEALTH & SAFETY:

K5 STONEHARD SPLFree flow, high strength, non-shrink cementitious precision grout compound

DESCRIPTION

A Single pack ready to use, ultra high strength, free flowing, non shrink grout. K5 STONEHARD SPL is blend of specially processed cement and special fillers which are free from corrosive substances and additives. It is highly compensate for shrinkage which impart controlled expansion in the plastic state, thus it compensates for shrinkage and settlement. It produces high ultimate strength and low permeability of water. It ensures high level of contact with increased flow ability.

USES

• It is to be used to eliminate shrinkage by complete filling of voids / gaps between base plate and applied substrate upto a thickness of 100 mm, beyond which it requires to mix with aggregates.

• It can be used to grouting of a staction base plate. It can also be used for anchoring of bolts, base plates (or under ground conditions, fence rosts, masts and columns in pre-cast construction.

KADDSUPER-PLASTICISER, SHRINKAGE

COMPENSATING GROUT ADMIXTURE

DESCRIPTION:

K ADD is plasticizing, shrinkage compensating grout additive. A single pack powdered admixture which, when added to cement (cement: sand), produces an easy flow, high strength, shrinkage compensating grout.

USES:

Ideally suited for grouting and in-filling where a non-shrink, free-flowing product is required. K ADD imparts super-plasticizing / high water reducing properties as well as positive expansion.

ADVANTAGES:

• Pre packed easy to use water proofing coating.• High fluidity. • Reduced water: cement ratio. Higher strength. • Iron free. • Chloride free. • Excellent adhesion.• Eliminates shrinkage. • Economical for non critical static load grouting

DOSAGE:

200 gm of K ADD, when added to 50 kiss-off cement, will require approx. 20 liters of water, the yield of grout being about 25 liters. With a 1:1 sand / cement mix the same quantity of K ADD with the required per 50 kg.o of cement, and the addition of a similar quantity of water results to yield approx. 55-58 liters.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS :

The substrate should be sound, clean and free from contamination. Concrete surface should be carefully pre-wetted and all surplus water to be removed prior to grout application. The K ADD should be added to the pre-mixed sand/cement (or cement only) an

Grouts made with K ADD may be applied at temperatures between 50C and 400C. The pouring side should be raised by means of a hopper or grout box to maintain a minimum 150mm head of grout at all times. Clean all equipments immediately after use with clean water.

CURING

Protect any exposed grouts from severe weather conditions during the early stages for cure by the use of Hessian, Polythene sheet water application or by K CURE C curing aid

K5 ANCHORGROUTHIGH STRENGTH, THIXOTROPIC, POLYESTER GROUT

DESCRIPTION

K 5 ANCHORGROUT is supplied as a two part system, pre-measured blend of polyester resins, with selected graded fillers, which, when mixed, offer a high strength, fast setting, fast curing grout of thixotropic consistency. The mixed grout will harden to give rapid strength gain. Designed for the anchoring of steel bars and bolts into concrete, machinery and brickwork.

USES

K 5 ANCHORGROUT can be used for a permanent installation of reinforcement doweling and starter bars, foundation bolts, base plates, hand rails, safety fences, wall tiles, railway tracks, tie back anchors and grout for tower cranes. Due to its thixotropic nature K 5 ANCHORGROUT can be used in vertical, horizontal and overhead situations where the hole diameter exceeds the bar diameter by not less than 4 mm and not more than 25 mm. Designed for the grouting and anchoring of steel bars and bolts into concrete, stone, machinery and brickwork where speed of installation and early load bearing capacity is required.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARATION: Hole should be formed using rotary percussive drilling techniques. Diamond drilled holes should be scrabbled or undreamed. Pre-cast holes should have roughened sides. All dust and drilling debris should be removed. Bars and bolts should be degreased and all rust removed.MIXING: 5 K 5 ANCHORGROUT is supplied in preweighed two packs. The content of plastic bag should be emptied in metal container, mixed thoroughly to form a smooth paste. Once mixed two components use it in one operation. Bigger pack can be mixed as required by mixing / volume of the resin component with 2 volumes of the powder.

INSTALLATION: The grout should be injected to the bottom of the hold to avoid entrapment of air. Due to its thixotropic nature, loss of K 5 ANCHORGROUT from the hole will be insignificant. K 5 ANCHORGROUT is designed for use where the gap between the hole and bar is 12 mm or less. CLEANING: All equipment should be cleaned with solvents.

Bolt pockets and base plate grouting of all rotary and static equipments, Crane, Stanchion bases and all type of machinery in all type of industrial projects.

DESCRIPTION:

K-5 STONEHARD 50 is based on specially processed cements containing fillers and additives. K-5 STONEHARD 50 is supplied as ready to use grout requiring addition of precise quantity of water at site (4.75 Litre/25 Kg grout). K-5 STONEHARD 50 is suitable for gap widths between 10mm-50mm. For width less than 10mm K-5 STONEHARD EP resin grout can be used. For thickness in excess of 50mm. (say 75-100), cleaned washed 10mm aggregates can be incorporated at the rate of 50%-100% of the quantity of grout used. The water needs to be precisely measured. 25 Kg of K-5 STONEHARD 50 40 will require 4.75 Litre of water (W/P = 0.19) for making flowing grout.

YEILD:

One pack of K-5 STONEHARD 50 will yield approximately 14 litres of grout when mixed with specified quantity of water.

EXPANSION:

INSTRUCTION FOR USE: SURFACE PREPARATION : (1) All contaminated surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly. (all contaminations fully removed by chemical or mechanical methods). (2) All bolt pockets and under bases must be free from dust, lattiance. If needed, substrate must be hacked to provide extra mechanical key. (3) The pockets and under bases must be saturated with water to allow for full absorption for atleast 24 hours. Just before the grouting is to commence, all water must be removed completely leaving the surface only damp.

MIXING : Mechanical mixing using a grout mixer or concrete mixer is recommended. Hand mixing is permitted. (1) Place 80% of the water required in a concrete mixer (100% water in case of a grout mixer). (2) Slowly add the required amount of K-5 STONEHARD 50 while mixing continuously for 1 minute. Add balance quantity of water (20%) and mix for 3 to 5 minutes.

PLACING : The mixed grout must be placed / poured immediately from one side only to avoid air pockets. Hydrostatic head of 150-250 mm height must be provided to enable the free flowing of grout under base plate. Grouting must be continuous until the cavity is completely filled to the desired level. All exposed areas must be restrained by covering with wooden plates or polythene sheets with sand sprinkled on top of the sheet.

BOLT POCKETS : Depending on the size of the bolt pockets, 50-100% cleaned 10mm sound aggregates by weight of grout consumption may be sealed incorporated to economies on grout and also to keep the heat of hydration low. When the thickness exceeds 100mm-150mm our technical department may be contacted for advise. There must be atleast 12 hours gap between bolt pocket and under base plate grouting sequence.

UNDERBASE PLATE : Leak proof strong formwork must be provided to withstand operational stresses while grouting and all edges must be sealed with K-5 STONEHARD 50 troweling consistency to arrest the grout flowing out of formwork. The sealed edges must be strong enough to resist fluid grout. The exposed areas must be kept to a minimum 100-150mm on the grouting side and 50mm on the opposite side. The expose areas of base plates (solder) should covered with polythene sheets or with wet hessian bags after 45 minutes to 1(1/2) hours (depending on temperature) with sand sprinkle on the top to restraining the expansion if the expansion is not restrain hair line surface will be observed.

CURING : Within 8 hours of grouting all grouted areas must be cured with wet hessian cloth or water pounding according to the temperature for a minimum 7 days period. All equipment, and tools must be rinsed with water immediately after use.

PACKING & SHELF LIFE:

25 Kg lined HDPE bags l K-5 STONEHARD 50 has a minimum shelf life of 6 months if stored in a dry enclosed area in unopened bags. HEALTH & SAFETY:

MIXING

• Mix the Base and Hardner together.

APPLICATION

Apply K 5 STONEHARD EPLV by gravity feed or by gunning or pumping into the cracks. Injection flanges may be attached along the crack length at nominal 150mm intervals, using K 5 STONEHARD EPLV. K 5 STONEHARD EPLV is also suitable for facing off vertical cracks.

EQUIPMENT CLEANING

• Clean all equipments immediately after using K 5 STONEHARD EPLV.

CURING

K 5 STONEHARD EPLV will be touch dry after 10 hours at 30OC and hard dry after 16 hours 30OC. Full mechanical properties will be achieved following 7 days cure 30OC. At lower temperatures curing times will be extended.

PACKING & COVERAGE• 5 pack consist of Base and Hardner.• The consumption of K 5 STONEHARD EPLV is very much dependent on the

depth and extent of cracks within the substrate.

SHELF LIFE

DESCRIPTION

A Single pack ready to use, ultra high strength, free flowing, non shrink grout. K5 STONEHARD ULTRA is blend of specially processed cement and special fillers which are free from corrosive substances and additives. It is highly compensate for shrinkage which impart controlled expansion in the plastic state, thus it compensates for shrinkage and settlement. It produces high ultimate strength and low permeability of water. It ensures high level of contact with increased flow ability.

USES

• It is to be used to eliminate shrinkage by complete filling of voids / gaps between base plate and applied substrate upto a thickness of 100 mm, beyond which it requires to mix with aggregates.

• It can be used to grouting of a staction base plate. It can also be used for anchoring of bolts, base plates (or under ground conditions, fence rosts, masts and columns in pre-cast construction.

(2) Slowly add the required amount of K5 STONEHARD ULTRA while continuously for 1 minute. Add balance quantity of water (15 %) and mix for 4 to 5 minutes.

The mixed grout must be placed immediately and grouting must be continuous till the cavity is filled.

DESCRIPTION

KGROUT is a two pack high strength polymer based cementitious grout specially formulated using a Portland cement powder mix. The mix design consists of a blend of fine and ultra-fine cements, high quality graded sands and a set of synergistic admixtures. The mix design includes special shrinkage compensating components, which gives a non- shrink grout in plastic states.

USES

High strength grout and support for : crane rail tracks, stanchion bases, Machine bed plates for reciprocating, rotational and impact machinery.The material is also suitable for grouting of struts, railing guard rail assemblies, construction joints in pre cast slabs.

ADVANTAGES

Mixing

KGROUT should be mixed with the specified amount of liquid polymer, preferably by mechanical means, for a minimum of 3 to 5 minutes. Do not mix more material that can not be used in 15 minutes. This material is not suitable for mixing by hand.

Placing

Grout should be placed within 10 minutes of mixing. Continuous placing is important, pouring from one side of the formwork until the grout appears at the opposite side of the grouting area. Do not disturb once grouting has been completed. KGROUT may be placed at temperatures between 5°C and 45°C.
