Florida’s history• As more and more people came to live in Florida,
the government had more pressure to make the Native Americans leave their land. Also, many people who came to Florida had plantations with slaves. The Seminole tribe angered the new settlers because they kept runaway slaves in their villages and integrated with them. A treaty was signed with some Seminoles agreeing to leave Florida, but others stayed to defend their land. This resulted in the Seminole Wars.
