Floppy diskettes

• Is a removable fat piece o mylar plastic packaged in a 3½” plastic

case

• Is a round piece o mylar coated with erric oxide and encased in a

rigid plastic shell

• Data and programs are stored on the disk’s coating by means o

magnetised spots ollowing the standard ono! patterns o data

representation such as "#$II

• Diskettes are inserted into a foppy drive% a device that holds% spins%

reads data rom and writes data to a foppy disk

• &'( read means that data in secondary storage is converted to

electronic signals and a copy o that data is transmitted to the
