VBS was a huge success, we were able to minister to over 70 kids. Thank you to all who

helped with decoration Sunday, to the staff who participated each day, for the donations and food that was brought in for staff and family luncheon.

We will need workers on “Move-In Day” at William Woods on Wednesday, August 21 at 7 am. We need the strong arms that can carry dorm refrigerators, TVs and luggage, but also those who can handle lightweight articles as well—all are welcome

and all are needed!!!

“Welcome Back BBQ” on Saturday, September 7,

on the church parking lot. Are you willing to come help grill, set up/clean up, or send food? We need people to do all those things!

Carry-In DinnerAugust 21, 6 pm

You are invited to an all-church carry-in dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 21st.

Our guest speakers are Nick and Marsha Drake who will share about their experiences living and working in Turkey for the last five years. The Drakes helped start and lead a community center in Istanbul. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn about living abroad with a family of four children.

The Drakes are Lori Avery's sister and brother-in-law.

Each family is asked to bring a dish to share. The church will provide meat and drinks.

Sunday school teachers training is scheduled for Saturday August 24 & November 9, from 9 am-Noon.  We

are going to take a look at ideas to help you teach your class, ways to build unity within your class, how to invite people to join your class and strategies for discipling others. There will be special training for children’s teachers.

We are gearing up for an exciting year in AWANA and are in need of additional workers. If

you'd like to help out in this ministry, please contact Mitch or Lori Avery at

mliavery@yahoo.com. 

On August 11th, we are having a meeting for all AWANA workers and their families immediately

following the service in the fellowship hall. Lunch will be provided and a brief meeting will follow.
