HyRaMP Introduction - Objectives

Coordination between the European Regions

 Harmonisation of regional activities across Europe

 Initiation of common inter-regional projects (actions)

Collaboration EU programs and organisations:

 Representation of the European Hydrogen regions

towards relevant European initiatives : Joint Undertaking

for Fuel Cells and Hydrogen , EII, Green Car Initiative, Cars

21 etc.

 Harmonisation of regional, national and European

activities and funding

 Broadening activities to electromobility: support the

deployment of battery and fuel cell vehicles>>>March 16 5Cars 21 WG 1 March 4, 2011

HyRaMP Regions role in FCH/EV deployment as…

• Planning and transport authorities influencing urban and regional

development and infrastructure decisions at local level (i.e. general

city planning, environmental zones, congestion charge etc);

• Purchasers and specifiers of vehicles as early adopters (i.e.

procurement of public fleets) in order to support demand and

market viability of vehicles and infrastructure;

• Enabler to integrate electric infrastructure into local energy

planning decisions as part of wider energy security concepts,

energy storage , smart grids;

• Promotors of usage locally as exemplars of vehicle usage

working with business and technology/innovation providers.

HyRaMP’s FC Vehicle Demo Project involvement

HyRaMP is involved in several projects of the EU Fuel Cell and

Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) , as partner /co-financer:

 H2 moves Scandinavia (FC passenger cars)

HyRaMP facilitates European road shows across several

European regions (dissemination through local events).

 CHIC (FC hybride buses)

HyRaMP coordinates general and targeted dissemination

1st Call

HyRaMP coordinates general and targeted dissemination

in 19 regions in Europe.

 3rd FCH JU Call (2010 under negotiation)

HyRaMP is a dissemination partner in two fuel cell

vehicles demo projects: one for buses and one for taxies.

8

To support a long term approach for commercialisation and to

motivate more local decision makers with concrete project results

2nd Call

3rd Call

Vlaamse Overheid LINE 25 februari 2011

 Growing Commitment of International car manufacturers

 Growing number of vehicle projects in various European regions (Germany, Italy, etc.)

 H2Moves Scandinavia

 Higher quantities and increasing interest of international vehicle manufacturers like

Toyota, Honda and Hyundai in Clean Energy Partnership (Berlin, Hamburg, NRW)

 New Vehicle projects in Copenhagen/London

Ramp Up Fuel Cell Cars

 Expectations for the introduction of hydrogen cars on the market

 Market study on market opportunities and viability of hydrogen vehicles financed by

vehicle manufacturers (H2-Coalition)

 Optimistic prognosis for hydrogen vehicles from2020

 Similar task on buses in 2010 FCH JU call

Cars 21 WG 1 March 4, 2011
