Fishing-Types Of Fish

The main fish are halibut*, salmon*, herring, ling cod, smelt, sturgeon, and eulachon.The fish were preserved by smoking and drying them. The fathers caught them, the mothers prepared them, and the children helped prepare them.

They used the tides to catch the fish.

Hooks Lures Rakes+Harpoons

Hooks were used to catch halibut.Spears and lures caught lingcod.Rakes were used for herring.Harpoons caught sturgeon.Spears were used to catch salmon.
