We are very excited to announce that new small groups are starting in September! All of the new groups will func-tion in six month cycles. Registration for the Fall/Winter session (September – February) begins the first Sunday of August. You can register online at the church website or in writing using the registration cards found at the Welcome Center. There are three different types of groups that have been prepared to meet different types of needs. Here’s a bit of info about each type of group: One type of group will be called Connect Groups. These
groups will seek to connect participants with others in the church on an ongoing basis in an open and comfortable environment. (Most will meet in homes.) These groups will be open to new participants throughout their session. They might be arranged around geographic location, a particular phase of life, or even a favorite hobby. Whatever the initial connection between participants, the objectives will be threefold: 1) meet to-gether, 2) speak together, and 3) pray together. As participants meet together, lead-ers will guide discussion around Gospel themes/topics and lead a time of group pray-er. We hope these groups will be simple, flexible, and relational. If you think you’d be interested in leading a Connect Group, email Mike Rogers at mt [email protected] Growth Groups will be a second option. These groups seek to help participants apply biblical principles to their lives. Participants should expect to work through a designated curriculum (most will require some individual study/reading between meet-ings) based around a portion of Scripture or particular Christian Living theme. Then, under the direction of their leader, group participants will seek to help one another apply the principles of the study in their own lives. Groups will be comprised of 8 – 12 participants and most will meet in homes. They will be filled on a first -come, first-serve basis. So, be sure and register early! Growth Groups will be closed after the first meeting. Participants will be asked to cover the cost of their material for the group. The emphasis on application in these groups will require participants to be members of FBCUM in order to register. A third option will be Equip Classes. These classes seek to instill biblical knowledge within participants at all levels of their Christian faith. Equip classes will be held at the church each week on Thursday evenings from 7 – 8:30pm. These classes will require a minimum of 8 participants. Also, participants will be expected to be pre-sent for at least 80% of the class meetings. Individual study and reading will be re-quired between meetings in order to participate in these classes. There will be a mini-mal cost to recover the purchase of the course material. Any costs will be explained in the description for each class on the registration sheet and will be worked out with the class leader. With these options, we’re confident that you’ll be able to find a particular place to help you grow in your relationship with God and with one another. We look forward to seeing you in a new group this Fall.

The Bible is an amazing book. It’s not just a collection of stories; it’s one big story where everything points to Jesus.
If the Bible is one big story that points to Jesus, you might wonder why Jesus himself appears so late in the story - or does He? Look closely and you will find signs that point to Jesus right from the very beginning. The pages of the Bible are filled with stories that point us to Jesus. But the story doesn't end there. Jesus followers carried His message to the ends of the earth. You and I have the same calling! We are to share Jesus wherever we go until one day He returns to make everything right again!
Yes, the Bible is full of amazing stories, but really, it’s all about Jesus. That’s the story - that’s HIS story. Won’t you join us every Sunday morning in DiscipleLIFE as we begin an amazing and unforgettable journey through the Bible. DiscipleLIFE meets every Sunday morning at 9 am and there are classes for everyone. On Sunday August 22 at 9 am in the Worship Center, all of our adult classes will meet for a brief (15 - 20 minute) general session where our special guest Brian Dembowczyk will share about the elements of The Gospel Project that will help keep your family focused on the lesson throughout the week. Please make plans to join us for this important session.

When: October 23 - 25
(Friday Evening, Saturday
Morning, Sunday Morning)
Our Special Guest:
Dr. Donald Whitney
Fall Bible Conference Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 23 – 25, 2015.
We are very excited to have Dr. Donald Whitney join us that week-
end to lead our Fall Bible Conference. Dr. Donald Whitney has
served as professor of Biblical Spirituality and Associate Dean at The
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY since 2005.
Before that, he held a similar position at Midwestern Baptist Theolog-
ical Seminary in Kansas City, MO, for ten years. He is the founder
and president of The Center for Biblical Spirituality.
Many of you have likely run across his well-known book, Spiritual
Disciplines for the Christian Life, or his smaller work on Family Wor-
ship. The theme of our conference this year is “Diagnosing Your
Spiritual Health”, based upon Dr. Whitney’s book, Ten Questions to
Diagnose Your Spiritual Health. Over two sessions Friday evening,
two sessions Saturday morning, and Sunday morning worship, Dr.
Whitney will be covering some of the following topics: Do you Thirst
for God?, Are You Governed Increasingly by God’s Word?, Are You More Sensitive to
God’s Presence?, Do You Delight in the Bride of Christ (His Church)?, Are the Spiritu-
al Disciplines Increasingly Important to You?, Do You Still Grieve Over Sin?, Are You
a Quicker Forgiver?, and Do You Yearn to Be With Jesus?. We pray that you’ll make
plans to be here during those days.
Please, feel free to invite others to join you for the conference. There is no regis-
tration fee to attend. You can find more information about Dr. Whitney and his work
at his website: www.biblicalspirituality.org

we are expanding the program this year, space is still some-what limited. Please don’t de-lay. There will be an Awana Leaders meeting on Saturday,
During the dog-days of Sum-mer, Fall seems far away. September will be here before you know it, and all of our
Wednesday night activities will be back in full swing. On Wednesday, September 9, we will resume a full Wednesday schedule with din-ner, choirs, Awana, and Bible Study. We will be offering opportu-nities for expansion in our Awana program this year by encouraging our clubbers to bring their friends. Those club-ber families will have the oppor-tunity to sponsor a child should they wish to continue in the
Awana program. More infor-mation on what it means to be a sponsor family will be explained at the Parent Orientation night. There is a place for children age 3 through 6th Grade in
August 22. All leaders will need to attend this important meeting. Ignite , the Bible study for
our High School Students will be offered. Details about this study will be outlined an the annual Student Ministries Par-ent meeting. A Bible Study for Adults will be offered as well. Choirs will also begin. If you would like to join the Adult Choir for the first time for the Fall, you should contact Jason Brown for an interview. If you will be participating in the meals please be sure to make your reservations in ad-
