Thermocouple Flame Sense is an electronic valve ignition and flame monitoring system. Simply press the ON button on the hand held transmitter (provided) and the system will spark to light the flame. The Thermocouple Flame Sense features a safety shut OFF in case of loss of flame and auto re-light.

1. Press the ON button on the handheld remote transmitter. You will hear the ignitor probe begin sparking for 15-seconds and the fire pit will ignite.2. If the fire pit does not light the module will “beep” one time every second indicating an ignition error. If this occurs press the OFF button on the

transmitter and repeat step 1-3.3. If fire pit does not light after second try, turn main gas OFF, wait 5 minutes and repeat steps 1-3.

MATCH THROW

The Match Throw system is by far the easiest system to maintain.

1. Insert key into shut-off valve and secure into square end.

2. Light a long match or butane lighter and hold it near the burner.

3. Turn the key counter-clockwise in gas valve (until it stops) to allow gas to flow and simultaneously apply the long burning match or Butane lighter as close to the end of the burner as possible to light the fire pit.

4. Gas should ignite within 10 seconds or less. If fire pit does not light within 10 seconds turn key clockwise to turn OFF the gas supply. Ensure there is not too much media on top of the burner that might inhibit gas flow and try again in 5-minutes.

To determine how long a gas appliance will operate on one tank of gas first determined the total Btu’s of the propane tank. Divide that number by the total Btu’s of your appliance. This will provide to the approximate total time your gas appliance will operate on the tank of gas.

Warning: When building a fire pit for use with LP Gas, understanding the properties of Liquid Propane is important. Liquid Propane is heavier than air. Liquid Propane will have a tendancy to sink into any enclosed area and thus poses a risk of explosion and fire. Because of this risk we strongly recommend you build your fire pit incorperating the use of a pan or disc. Cross ventilation is required and access to the gas connections and valve systems.

• Natural Gas (NG) flow is given in thousands of BTU/hr. - One cubic foot of LP gas - 1000 BTU• Nominal pressure at the burner for Natural Gas is 3.5” of water column. (Typical machine supply 5”-7”)• Pipe length must include additional length for all fittings. Add approximately 5 feet of pipe per fitting.• Natural Gas Example: A machine with a burner that requires 440,000 BTU would need a 1 -1/4” pipe for a 20” long run.

LIQUID PROPANE : PIPE SIZING CHART

• Liquid Propane (LP) Gas flow is given in thousands of BTU/hr. - One cubic foot of LP gas - 2516 BTU

• This chart refers to low pressure LP, after regulation, Standard nominal pressure at the burner for Liquid Propane Gas is 11” of water column.

• Pipe length must include additional length for all fittings. Add approximately 5 feet of pipe per fitting.

• LP Example: A machine with a burner that requires 440,000 BTU would need a 1” pipe for a 20’ long run.

NOTE: The sizing charts above list the specific pipe sizes required for the amount of BTU’s for a new gas line installations. Should it be determined that any Product subject to the MAP Policy is or has been advertised or promoted at a price below the MAP pricing established for said Product by SPG-Retail at any time, the violating Retailer shall immediately take all steps necessary to cure said violation and bring its advertising, promotion, pricing and sales activity into compliance with the MAP Policy. SPG-Retail hereby, at any time, reserves the right to discontinue the shipment of Products to the violating Retailer and/or its distributor, and the right to terminate future sales of Products to said violating Retailer and/or its distributor, subject to the parties’ respective financial and confidential obligations that shall survive such termination.
