1 INTRODUCTION

This calculation report covers the firewater demand estimating for firefighting system to protect equipments and facilities installed in OLEFINS RECONFIGURATION PROJECT (ORP) Project in Map-Ta-Put, Rayong Province, Thailand.

2 DEFINITION

Definitions used in this calculation as follows:

5 CALULATION BASIS

5.1 Application Rete for Water Spray System / Fixed Foam System

According to 80000-SP-FF-001_Design Philosophy for Fire Fighting System, application rate shall be applied as following.

5.3 Water Velocity

Water velocity in the water spray pipe including deluge valve manifold pipe taken from firewater main shall not exceed 6 m/sec although 3.5 m/sec (block case 4.5 m/sec) for firewater main network pipe.

Water Spray Protected Equipment is selected as per Section 6.4 of 80000-SP-FF-001_Design Philosophy For Fire Fighting System. Water Spray Protected Equipment is shown on PID No. 81000-PI-201~81000-PI-219.

5.5 Foam Water Spray System (Fixed Foam System) Equipment

Foam Water Spray Protected Equipment is selected as per Section 6.5 of 80000-SP-FF-001_Design Philosophy For Fire Fighting System. Foam Water Spray Protected Equipment is shown on PID No. 81000-PI-301~81000-PI-305.

5.6 Water Curtain System Equipment

Water Curtain Protected Equipment is selected as per Section 6.6 of 80000-SP-FF-001_Design Philosophy For Fire Fighting System. Water Curain Protected Equipment is shown on PID No. 81000-PI-401.

6 MAXIMUM FIRE WATER DEMAND

6.1 Firewater Demand

The largest firewater demand of one of the fire risk areas will be the maximum firewater demand based on a single major fire breaking out in one fire risk area in any one time.

For estimating total fire water demand, a minimum supplementary of 1,900 Lpm from 2 hose stream hydrant and maximum 4,000Lpm from Two(2) fire monitor will be added to the water demand from fixed fire protection system the maximum 5,900Lpm should be added to the fire water demand depend on fire risk area and installed fire monitor quantity

When estimating fire water demand for water hydrant, the following shall be used:

- Flow rate for One(1) Hose Stream of Hydrant : 950 Lpm

- Flow rate for One(1) Fire Monitor Flow : 2000 Lpm

This manual calculation result and its required fire main size will be verfitied by Hydraulic Calculation Report (81000-VG-002). “PIPENET” programmed by SUNRISE SYSTEM LTD. (U.K) shall be used for flow analysis in pipe network in Hydraulic Calculation Report.
