Why this subject for my final project??

• AS an Egyptian social entrepreneur, and a pioneer in my field I always felt the hardship of starting a new business, and the cultural problems that despite of being well educated yet hindered a lot female entrepreneurs in Egypt. Thanks God things has changed a lot in the last few years than it used to be, Yet I chose my final project to speak about (Financing Women entrepreneurs in Egypt) because of my own personal experience, in addition of all my studies that I’m providing training now about women entrepreneurship, I believe in Egypt it can add a great impact on the economics, and can financing them would be worthy to achieve sustainability goals VIVIAN LABIB NOEUR

Why Entrepreneurship

• - College graduates annually are much more than the market capacity of jobs

• In Egypt there is many challenges that needs solutions and opportunities to be grasped

• SMEs creates 2/3 of 550.000 job annually in Egypt till 2010 (national Economic strategy)

• Private sector provides lots of employment opportunity specially the unregistered and unofficial ones

Why Women Entrepreneurship in Egypt

• Supporting a woman to start a project has a • direct impact on the life of the whole family

• Only 22%of women share in employment from age 15-64 which Is a waste of great energy

• More than 17% f women employment is unpaid, and the percentage increases to 30% in countryside

• The culture of male domination affects even the market, that women are paid less for the

same job

Why Women Entrepreneurship in Egypt

• A woman can start a small project with less than 100 dollars, while a man needs at least 3000 to start his small project

• helping a woman start her business has a direct impact on the family, which affects also other aspects like children education, health, and general life style

• Women faced lots of hardship in finding suitable jobs which makes starting her own project a need and solution at the same time

Challenges faced by women

• Lack of entrepreneurship training• Under estimating the power & capability of the

Egyptian women in the society• Work/home life balance as many demands are

there from the women• Lack of database• Birocracy and red tape hinders ease of paperwork• High competition with lack of mentorships or

advisory boards

Proposed solutions-Reach out for women in rural areas,-give them more training & awarenessabout their important role in the Egyptian community

-- connecting new projects with sources of funding, creating more financial resources for development

-- directing the private sector to help new SMEs in their new journey and complete their supply chain

-- offering less taxes for new women owned projects

• - offering mentorship for new generation of women young entrepreneurs from older ones

- providing more training on entrepreneurship and how to start your own business

Proposed solutions

-Encouraging the public sector to participate and take share in social responsibility projects with women-- encouraging more development projects to be directed towards women training, employment and financing
