Report on Field Visit of NAST-KOICA-CBNU Project

Submitted By:Eastern TeamFeb 20151. IntroductionThe main aim of this visit was to study the appropriate alternative energy technologies in two different districts namely Ilam and Morang. We had three different approaches to reach to different living scenario people in the districts. For this, we handle Community Level Program, Institution Level Program and finally District Stakeholder Interaction Program. Beside that we observed different energy system installed in the district. Last but not least, participants had excitingly involved in the fill up of questionnaire. This yields the real scenario of energy in the variety sector of the district.

3. Methodology for achievement of Plan

We departed from NAST on Monday 4th Magh 2072 and reached in Bardibas on same date. Next day (5th Magh 2072) we reached on Ilam and did one institutional level program in Ilam. The chairperson of this program was Campus Chief of Mahendra Multiple Campus Mr. Rajendra Kunwar. We held this program on the meeting hall of that campus where more than 30 bachelor level students and 10 staffs including lecturer were involved.

On 6th Magh 2072 we did interaction program at Shree Siddheshwor Agricultural Cooperative Limited Barbote -5 Ilam in the presence of Chairperson of this organization Mrs. Sita Devi Baral. After completion of community level program we had arrange meeting with CDO of Ilam and with his reference we met LDO of Ilam and program was decided to organize on meeting hall of LDO office for the next day.

On 7th Magh 2072 district level stakeholder interaction program was successfully completed with the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Bishnu Bahdur Karki,CDO Ilam. He had added remarkable comments on the program by suggesting us to do technical survey rather than feasibility study of energy scenario on the Ilam district.

On 8th Magh 2072 we departed from Ilam and reached in Itahari. Next day, we reached on Biratnagar and did college level program on Himalayan Darshan Campus with presence of Principal of that campus Mr. Bharat Sapkota as a chairperson of the program.

On 9th Magh 2072 we did interaction program at Shree Tribeni Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited Pokhariya, Morang in the presence of Chairperson of this organization Mr. Yubaraj Rijal.

On 10th Magh 2072, After completion of community level program we had arrange meeting with CDO of Morang and we also met LDO of Morang to organize meeting at LDO office for the next day.On 11th Magh 2072 district level stakeholder interaction program was successfully completed with the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Toyam Raya,CDO Morang.

On 12th Magh 2072 we returned Bardibas from Biratnagar. Finally, Next day (13th Magh 2072) we returned Kathmandu valley safely and soundly.

4. ConclusionIn this way, we completed our filed visit by collecting energy scenario of these two targeted district of eastern development region.
