“Mass customization” and parts variety in the automotive in-dustry have increased radically in the past years. This triggers the need for optimum sequencing of components and modu-les. For many operations, this poses real problems.

That's one more reason to rely on Ferrostaal Automotive’s know-how, because even with maximum variants and shor-test lead times, we have the experience and expertise needed to handle sequencing perfectly.

Using powerful Information Technology, we break down the vehicle-specific data into individual sequencing jobs and pick the modules from specially developed sequencing racks.

AssemblyWhen things get complicated we really get good

If the final manufacturing step can only be completed just be-fore components are needed or assembly can be carried out only after the call-out information has been received from the automotive manufacturer, then various strategies are needed:

• Batch manufacture of different variants with sequenced delivery or• In-sequence production of vehicle assemblies

Implementing either of these strategies is something we take in stride! In addition, our customers can choose whether they want us to deliver complete loads of the required modules or to sequence everything exactly in line with production needs.

Particularly when it comes to the assembly of high value added modules (e.g.: engine finishing) or to safety-critical operations (e.g.: assembly of front wheel modules), we ensure traceability by providing full documentation of all actions (e.g.: parts ins-talled, torque applied, etc.).

Outbound DeliveryFlexibility from proximity – the rest is know-how

All our services are sharply customer-focused – all the way through the systematically planned manner in which we handle outbound delivery. Once again, the key factor is pre-cisely what the customer wants. And then we employ one of our proven logistics solutions.

Our proximity to the automotive plant is an advantage but it’s far from being the only one.

Depending on requirements and local possibilities, we of-fer different transport variants which can be customized as required:

• Truck tractors in combination with semi-trailers (in a shuttle service)• The use of fully automatic transport systems (conveyor systems for vehicle final assembly)• Tow units with trailers (for in-plant movements)

We also cover all in-plant transport variants including direct distribution of individual sequencing racks to where they are needed (line-feeding to the point of use). Whatever the needs, we provide most efficient solutions.
