Who is my audience?
Due to the number of young female children who are at risk of being genitally mutilated the target audience in this case will be the mothers/ carers of these girlshelp young girls who have been victims or at risk of the cultural practice,
My audience is to help girls come forward and empower each other to put a stop to FGM
Waris Dirie is one of nearly 66,000 women who having experienced the procedure also secondhanded experienced the pain and trauma of FGM so she encourages other females who have suffered in silence. My intended audience for my campaign is students in Leyton Sixth Form College and locals around the area on Leyton and Waltham Forest due to the large quantities of Somalians in East London.

What is my message? My message is to raise awareness to stop female genital mutilation and take back female rights for the victims or the ones who are at risk of FGM.
FGM is a serious crime it happened to children from infancy to 15 years which makes it child abuse.
Some women feel physically and mentally pressured to under go FGM due to some women believing that FGM is their only hope to find a husband
Because men in communities that support FGM say that a woman who is not cut is not fit to marry.
Its estimated that nearly 125 million girls and women have been subjected to this violation, and each year a further 3 million are at risk in Africa alone. Many girls who have been victims of this crime go through un-imaginable trauma from a young age, they develop many psychological trauma such as post-traumatic stress, anxiety disorders and depression.
