About Us.

• Purpose: provide a forum for the exchange of views between members who share an interest in Amateur Radio, as either licensed Radio Amateurs or as Short wave Listeners with a view to develop understanding, acquaintance and fellowship between members worldwide.

• Members: Rotarians, or Rotaractors or Retired Rotarians, or the Spouses of Members, who hold an Amateur Radio license issued in their own country of residence, or who have a genuine interest in Shortwave Radio.

Rotary and Community Initiatives

• Polio awareness to the world of Amateur Radio via special call signs such as VI4POLIO (Australia) and OU0POLIO (Denmark).

• Some members are also involved in disaster support as amateur radio can be a resilient means of voice and data communication until commercial facilities are restored.

• Usually operating a station at the Rotary Convention fellowship booth using a special Rotary Call-sign to promote awareness. E.g. This year the Convention call sign is HL16RI. (signifying the 2016 Rotary Convention in Korea)

younger members• Disaster recovery skill-based assistance to

organisations such as Red Cross.See you at Booth 2639 in the Hall of Friendship!
