INTRUM STOCKHOLM OPEN TALKING POINTS

• No. 1 seed Fabio Fognini hopes to go one step further at the 2019 Intrum Stockholm Open. In his first two appearances at the event, over the last two years, the Italian has fallen at the semi-final hurdle both times. Last year, he was defeated by Stefanos Tsitsipas, and the Greek went on to collect his first ATP Tour singles title.

• No. 2 seed Grigor Dimitrov took a wild card into the event, where he has had tremendous past success. Like Tsitsipas, the Bulgarian won his first-ever ATP Tour singles title at Stockholm, triumphing in 2013. He reached the final twice more, in 2014 and 2017. Overall, Dimitrov has reached the quarter-finals or better six times, and has amassed a 17-6 win-loss record at Stockholm.

• Four of the Top 10 players in the #NextGenATP’s Race to Milan are in the Stockholm main draw, with Denis

Shapovalov, Casper Ruud, Mikael Ymer, and Corentin Moutet all contending for spots at the Next Gen ATP Finals for players born in 1998 and later. Alexei Popyrin, currently No. 11 in the Race to Milan, could join them in the Stockholm main draw if he wins his final-round qualifying match on Monday.
