to the Mid-America Simmental Sale!

Though we are only two months into 2018 it is beginning to be full swing on expo time across the Midwest. Expos are a great way to start the New Year because they truly showcase all of the variations between beef breeds and what each has to offer. In the end we all are the same providing nutritious meat for the consumer. The Simmental breed has loads to offer and it is evident this year at the Mid America sale. Not to mention it is a great opportunity to get new and old Simmental breeders involved in the breed and in their state associations. The Illinois Beef Expo is a special event as it truly showcases all the great aspects of the cattle industry in the state. The Simmental breeders from Illinois are very supportive of this event, and of their state association. These consignors who are involved in the Mid-America Simmental Sale have hand selected the cream of the crop genetics from their operations to be on display in Springfield. We realize as a sale management team the work that has been put into the cattle consigned and the efforts of the breeders involved. The sale offering is strong no doubt.

We invite you to look through the catalog and visit with the consignors concerning their individual lots. These breeders know their animals, genetics, and their operations, and are proud to share them with potential buyers. As always, the bull selection is one of the top groups you will find all spring. If you are looking for a bull, take a hard look at the offering in the Mid-America Simmental Sale, and see how they could bring value to your program. The breeders in Illinois assemble some of the finest genetics in the Simmental breed so all of the opens, breds, bulls, and genetic lots are of the highest quality and some are past state fair champions. Don’t forget this year the Illinois Simmental Association is hosting the North Central AJSA Regionals so this sale is the idea place to purchase your next champion. So study all the information included in the catalog, the sale lots, the donations, the upcoming events and become more involved in your association and the exciting times in the Simmental breed.

We hope that you will join the Illinois Simmental Association on Friday night for their annual meeting and banquet as well as all of the festivities of the Illinois Beef Expo. Bring the whole family and take in the expanded trade show as well as the junior show on Sunday. We look forward to seeing you at the Illinois Beef Expo at the Mid-America Simmental Sale! We will see you Saturday morning while the Simmental sale cattle will be on display. Look us up or call Drew, Holli, or I if any questions.

P.S. Watch our facebook page and/or website for sale updates, videos, interviews, sale orders and such.

We are offering a Big Time show heifer and Donor prospect that will forge her way into the future! She was the Res. calf Champion at the IL State Fair amongst tough competition. Her dam, who sold in Denver for $10,000 comes from a long line of extremely fertile and a very productive Reba 736 cow family. Primo’s Reba is a result of a 32 embryo flush, just to give a idea of what kinda of success and productivity potential she has. This female has it all as she tie’s a great structure, angularity and incredible soundness into a stout big boned package. Not to mention she’s as sow bellied as they come. Truly one like i have never seen before. Absolutely love this future Matriarch, witch is why were offering a buy back flush on this great female. Retaining the right to buy back one (1) successful Flush with a minimum of 6 embryos at the price of $2,000 at our expense and buyers convenience with a minimum of 6 embryos within 24 months after her first calf.

This is one of the stoutest SimAngus™ bulls you going to find. He has a tremendous amount of hip, top and huge down to his foot and bone. Looking at him and his full sib that’s is also in the sale is a impressive sight. He’s going to produce some show cattle and make some power house cows. You can’t go wrong with this bull. Primo’s Beast Mode is gonna make them as good or better than your AI calves.

Here is an exciting heifer for that may division. This girl just keep getting better and better. We are super excited for her future in the show ring next year. She is going to make a great cow as well. Reba E11 is a maternal sib to the dam of the Primo’s we have in the sale and i think she could be just as productive as a cow. We really like these Stepping Stone calves out of the W736 Donor. She has a great disposition and would be great for a young Jr. Definitely give this one a good look over on sale day.

For ever three embryos we guarantee one pregnancy. Take three, six or nine. If work is performed by a certified embryologist.

We selected JLo’s Reba W736 out of the 2016 North American sale and that was a easy decision. Even prior to that sale Reba had over $130,000 in sales of progeny and embryos. Reba first three calves by One Eyed Jack sold for $55,000. A Fatt Butt daughter sold for $10,000 in the National Western sale. The list and story of the successfully progeny goes on and on. This cow has been referred to as “Bread and Butter and she is that and more. The testimony is the progeny you again will be able to see in person at the Mid American sale. We followed this donor several years and admired her progeny so we strong suggest to not hold back on adding genetics to your program. The sires represented are consistent and some of the breeds best. This is your choice and the selection is good. Primo IVF heifers, the 2017 and 2018 Denver champion, Pay The Price and 20/20. What a family that continues to flourish.

These heifers are a result of embryos purchased form Joey Young’s donor, as you can tell by the pictures they have just enough white to be recognized and enough quality to be taken seriously. These are two uniquely designed purebreds that offer length of neck, squareness of hip, muscle shape, and overall style. We could not decide which one to bring, so we brought both of them. You decide which one you like the best!

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist.

The red baldie What To Expect is gone beyond our expectations. The Shear Force genetics is proven and the bottom side with Expecting a Dream and Expectation has been to a great job for years. Just look at the pedigree of Hammer, Sledgehammer and others. You’re buying into years of predictability. Two of the hard facts are this; three sons sold in the Indiana Bull Test and averaged $8,000 and in this sale Hills town is selling two daughters and they are quite impressive. As you view the paper work these choice of matings are great on paper with strong EPD. You have the opportunity to make money or secure your next breeding piece for your program. All these will work.

659E and her younger sister 756E, also consigned in the Mid America sale, are full sisters to PVF Proven Queen’s 2016 Illini Elite sale topping daughters that ended up in Texas and Mississippi in the Fields and Boyd show strings. Those two sisters were particularly competitive in the South for their young buyers and 659E is the first full sister to sell since the “stir” created in 2016. What a beautiful baldy and talk about a profile! This one gets your attention any way you look at her with her extremely sound pastern, her long athletic stride, and her extended front end. I like “Excitement 659E’s hip shape and combined with her balance — this is a really good one!

Out of the donor dam she is and by the Triple Crown winning Broker sire,Shows — anywhere! This heifer balances up with such a classy front end and so much flex and soundness. Her 2016 top selling full sisters in the Illini Elite sale went to great homes in the South and no doubt in our mind, this little gem is sure to compete in her July class. If there was a cow family here in Viola that I had to go without, I can absolutely promise you it would not be the Melody decedents. M011 made her mark in our operation as well as many others such as HPF, and 4th Meridian, her daughters and granddaughters continue to produce our highest quality calves’ year in year out as they create cattle that are sound structured, easily fleshing and loads of milk in her females. D034 comes from a Lookout daughter that is quickly earning her place in the donor pasture and becoming a personal favorite from the Melody family. When mated to Loaded up, a bull that is absolutely on fire right now, we feel we created just what the M011 progeny have always had but in a cleaner necked and more attractive package.

T090 gave us an opportunity of a lifetime when she was garnished with purple banners in Louisville, Denver and Fort Worth, I

never dreamt I would have as much fun with a cow as I did when we accomplished that, however, when she blessed us with A253, it’s quite fitting to say that the party is just getting cranked up for us. The Milestone daughters have proven to become potent on the bottom side of these pedigrees in some of the discriminating breeding programs across the country. I told Doug we are probably a year early in offering genetic opportunities on this female as we have a large set of ET calves coming this spring that I know will put her on the map however, A253 has proven herself in her own right with her natural calves averaging over $6,500, she continually produces cattle with “the look” while maintaining exceptional soundness and an abundance of body and shape. An outcross pedigree that can be mated to about any bull standing at suit right now.

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist.

A couple years ago we were in search of a powerful SimAngus female to lead our show string. We fell in love with his stunning Combustible female at the Head of the Class Sale. Little did we know how successful C504 show career was going to be. Right out of the gate, C504 started collecting banners at shows like Dixie National, ISU Hoof n Horn, Ozark Empire Roundup, and the DuQuoin State Fair. Last year she continued that success as a cow/calf earning Champion Cow Calf Pair at the Illinois State Fair and World Beef Expo. We just got started on this great young donor and have flushed her once very successfully. C504’s phenotype and pedigree speaks for itself. We cant wait to see the outcome of this mating. Maybe the last embryos to sell.

I am really excited about this mating. We sampled Classified and really liked the few that we had this spring needless to say it made our choice on mating’s here easy. The dam side of this mating is likely as fool proof as you will find anywhere. Z955, “Lovey” has quickly taken her place alongside her flush mates and maternal siblings as predictable profit generators. Lovey, is a full sib to the multiple champions of the great RP/MP Right to Love 015U female, most notable HPF Quantum Leap, THSF Loverboy, and Z338. Lovey, the 2013 Eastern Regional Res Champion female has proven not only was she a winner, but she can make them also. Last year a maternal sib to these embryos, FC Right in Love who was Champion Bred and owned at the Eastern Regional and 4th overall Bred and Owned at the 2016 Classic. Z955 is just starting her donor career but is off to a tremendous start and I am excited to see these calves.

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist.

Here is your chance to invest in a real purple opportunity, three embryos out of the daughter of one of the most famous cows from the Simmental breed, AJE Gabby R7 and the legendary bull, Uprising! Gabby was a two time winner of the Denver Stock Show. This year in the Sim Magic sale, a Gabby Uprising pregnancy sold for $7600. A full sibling to that pregnancy has sold to Hudson Farms/Tingle Farms for $40,000. Another sibling to the Harker Family for $ 20,000. The list is endless as to the successful progeny out of that great cow and do we even need to say anything about the phenomenal Uprising! The opportunity is being offered to obtain those same genetics with three embryos also mated to Uprising out of a daughter to Gabby who holds her own history of success. HILB Fashonista was the lead off heifer in the Grand Champion 2014 Pen at the National Western and was purchased in The One Sale. She went on to claim her own crown when she proved to be the fabulous cow that she is by winning the 2016 Grand Champion Purebred Cow Calf pair at the World Beef Expo! She’s also been a pin up girl as Cattle Visions has pictured her in their catalog representing the beautiful phenotype which New Direction can produce! Don’t miss this opportunity to obtain these landmark genetics that can make an outstanding contribution to your program!

This genetic gem is the result of some embryos we purchased through this sale in 2016. The track record of this cow family is highly proven. Her dam is a past Denver Champion and high seller, most recently she was producing for Guyer and Griswold before being sold to Canadian Donors. Maternal sibs to this female have commanded $46,000, $20,500, $20,000 to mention a few, as well producing as a herd sire for Griswold. Just this past year a maternal sib RF Joys Elegance 747E was Agribition Sr Calf Champion, and Farm Fair Supreme Champion in the All-Breeds Legends of Fall for Rancier Farms in Canada. 103E has great hair, a quiet disposition, just enough white to set her off, and the running gear for the long haul. We would like to reserve 1 successful flush at sellers expense and buyers convenience.

I had this SimAngus female pegged for the replacement pen. Yet every time, I went through the calaves in the pasture, E48 kept popping up with her striking look, baldy face, jet black hair, and good body depth and fullness and so we opted to let her go as one of our 2018 consignments. Just a little more moderate in her build, she leaves no question about her replacement potential. Keep breeding her as a half-blood or build purebreds from this solid base, female, either way she contributes.

There’s not much more we can write about how Silk has impacted our program. She Carry’s over a $6,000 average on 14 head, (bulls and heifers) sold by us in just 5 short years. Just recently a silk daughter produced an $8,000 heifer at this year’s Field of Dreams, that has already been into the purple. This Cow family just keeps on producing. Here is your chance to purchase a great female right from the heart of our program she is feminine, yet stout, and has plenty of style to burn. This is one attractive baldy with great hair and enough top shape and extension to compete while her replacement value is endless. I would hate to venture the impact the donor dam Dixie Erica X032 has already made in her first 5 years of production, but her 35 registered offspring are proving themselves in numerous herds across the nation. Her half sisters have been Reserve Calf Champion junior show Louisville a few years back, state fair division winners, and class winners at a national level. Take a look here this one will hang banners and become a donor.

E406 is a striking female that we feel has an awfully bright future ahead of her. I especially appreciate the amount of natural shape and volume that this girl carries being extra bold in her fore rib and soft in her flank, plenty of lower sweep to her lower cage, and comes out tall and clean with an elegant front 1/3. Mounted on an impeccable undercarriage that is flexible off all for corners and has her wheels pointed north. The Broker daughters are hard to get around, and E406 will be right at the top of the heap. Backed by the Forever Lady Cow Family on the bottom side her Lookout mother is a crowd favorite when folks drive through the pasture, and rightfully so.

Big soggy maternal made female here. EB25 will not be one you want to pass by without taking a second look. She is as stout and big middled with plenty of style. Her mother had a short-lived show career but the one time we did take her out she claimed her division title at the always tough Hoosier Beef Congress. 4107, her sire, is starting to make a big impact on our program and you will see much more to come from him.

The Classified heifers have created some buzz this fall and rightfully so, they are some of soundest structured and best footed cattle we can create when using bulls our breed offers that have “the look”. We Feel E521 fits the mold of the classifieds when you study her structure and foot design, she’s a little greener and flatter made yet, but give this girl some feed and little time and this girl will mature into a beautiful bred.

Sweet Diva is the result of an embryo purchase from Hudson Pines a couple years ago, we all know that there is a page worth of history we could write about WAR Diva and when the opportunity presented itself to obtain genetics out of a direct daughter we jumped on it. Sired by Upper Class this baldy female possesses not only a pedigree that screams cow potential but she’s pretty salty to look at as well. Long necked with a tight Jowl line, tight in her chest and lays her shoulder in perfect. E122 is wide built from hooks to pins and sets down wide with plenty of flex at the ground.

These Style daughters continue to dominate the show ring & have begun to lead in the donor pen; and this percentage stand-out will be no different. We decided to flush Miss Hoya Saxa to a few percentage mating’s, and we hit a home run here! The progeny from this mating continue to gain steam as they mature, and we look forward to what the future holds. Built the way you need them from the ground up, with plenty of swoop to her belly line, just the right muscle shape, and stunning view from the side. It’s not all phenotype that turns your head, this one is astonishing on paper as well. Dig in deep on this beauty because opportunities’ like this don’t come knocking every day; full sib mating was Reserve Champion Percentage Simmental Female at the University of Illinois Hoof N Horn Winter Warm Up 2017.

5943E is by one of the RS primary herdsires, RS Steel Force, making this female his first offspring to sale in public auction. I could not be more pleased with his first calves and this quality female is exemplary of what he has done. You will most certainly note the depth of heart and center width in this summer yearling purebred and don’t forget she goes back to the HPF MS Beautiful S054 granddam that has produced numerous champions for the Bramlett family. If you haven’t seen him you should!! Fairow Brothers is proud to offer the best of the best when it comes to bulls. Rhythm is one of a kind 3/4 blood that puts an awesome structure together with a great build and look. Not to mention the cow this bull is backed by is phenomenal. Audi has done very well for us producing top quality herd sires. Rythm is rugged and looks like a man should look. He reads very well on paper with a birth weight of 1.4 and on API of 116. I feel this bulls ability to go out and produce top notch cattle is very good. Rythm’s shape, power, thickness and style is why you can’t help not to like him. Commemorative Buckle

#20 ASA 50th Anniversary BuckleD1The 50 buckles were hand crafted individually and numbered 1through

50, with no other buckles being made to honor this great event. The buckles were so well received at the Foundation Gala, we sold almost half of them. The remaining buckles will be sold at different events throughout 2018 allowing Simmental breeders across the US to be apart of history. Your purchase of a buckle will support the Foundation. Thank you Curtis Spain, at Benchmark Custom Buckles for his assistance in developing and creating the buckles.
