FAMIT @ Corbett

'SUPER Convenors= SUPER FAMIT'

Having taken over at Hyderabad, the President entrusted me with his desire of having the first FAMIT

in Area V.

The task was how and when?

I immediately formed a team with Sameer Jain, Pankuj Vats and my Area Secretary Deepak Bajaj.

We had cut down to Corbett but the restriction placed by us was registration of 24500/- for Couple

and 13000/- for single and Daaru would not be sold plus the transportation to and fro Delhi to

Corbett also had to be included.

The team of three gave us several brain storming meetings working

out penny to penny costs.At times these three Musketeers even

brought us to have the same at Delhi but me as a dictat from the

President was adamant.

These three visited the venues on their own and lastly The Corbett

Riverside Resort was chosen as the venue with our dear IPC Chacha

Amrendra( as the team now calls him) having some direct contact

with the owners.

Meetings and micro planning meetings till the last the team had

given us a deficit budget but reduced it to a great extent. What

worried me was the evening entertainment for three evenings.

But to mine and the surprise of all the participants we had a package

full of surprises.

We started the bus at 11.40 am instead of pre fixed time of 11 and

last to board the bus were Kavita and Rajiv Kabra from Akshardham.

The bottles had started to tinkle as we crossed Delhi after some pee

pee and cigarette breaks reached Gajraula where the team FAMIT had arranged an elaborate

sumptuous lunch at Tadka dhaba.

Out of the three Musketeers Sameer had dropped out due to

medical reasons and the remaining two Pankuj and Deepak had

already reached the venue on 17.01.2018 to take care of other

arrangements and carry the Daaru.

Post lunch as the bus moved and the crowd in the bus on a high with

songs in different languages led by Smita Chopra and frantic calls to

Deepak for directions we reached the luxurious Riverside resort at 7.30

pm where Deepak and Pankuj greeted us and to our surprise the

rooms had already been allocated and no one had any problem

with a list at the reception for balance if any and the key was in our

hands.

As soon as we had our room keys flash came an announcement of

gathering at the wild life crest in the lawns within half an our.

Tired though and the chill in the evening wing being felt, reluctantly all

of us made it where to our surprise a guitarist enthralled and

entertained us with chirpy songs and welcomed others to sing songs

of their choices.

Before we could the Team called up the myself and the President to declare the FAMIT open with

a six line prayer in Punjabi sung by Convenor Deepak and English translation by Alongwith by Pankuj

Vats.

Feels good.

Friend is someone to sharethe last cookie with.

So I will eat till one is left.

The idea was superb and it energised everybody as the

chill was bright down by the well organised liquor and the

personal touch to taking care of every one by the Team of

three.

A lavish and delicious dinner awaited us as due to

government restrictions the music had to be closed. But

the event had started with a bang as all the participants

thanked Pankuj and Deepak for a wonderful relaxing

evening after the eight hour journey.

But the team had other plans as 9.30 am was the time

announced for Board Meeting next day. The ladies had a

laugh but to our surprise we got calls from the reception to

be at the meeting

venue where a whole some breakfast awaited in the restaurant and the Convenors ready with the

hall with all equipment checked. Even the President was late by 15 minutes but not the team

FAMIT.

With different activities at the resort planned , one group of

ladies opted for a drive to Nainital while the remaining

opted to enjoy the sun and nature at the resort.

Singh opted to enjoy the activities at the resort although

Ranjana went off to Nainital. But these kids went down river

crossing, horse riding,nature walk through the jungle and

were happy with their two uncles Deepak , Pankuj Vats

always ready to meet their needs.

After a gruelling Board meet where in Deepak and Pankuj

displayed their new talents

making all present hold their

stomachs with their last

moment skit, the duo

requested all to be present at 7.30 so that we could get maximum

entertainment as music could not go beyond 10.30 pm.

With the evening getting colder we were in for some hot

entertainment as two Belle Dancers enthralled the crowd with

superlative performances and danced with the entire crowd on the

floor continuously for 45 minutes.

Another delicious dinner awaited us at 11.00 pm .

Day 3 was announced as an early breakfast and early lunch as most

of the participants were going for the jungle safari leaving at 1.00

pm.

As per the announced call both the Convenors were again present at

the reception to take care of the respective vehicles allotted to the

participants with the official permits. Within 15 minutes the 10 Gypsies

were ready and whoom they went hunting for the tiger!

All the vehicles returned back by 5.30 and the chill in the atmosphere apparent everybody wanted

a hot cup of tea and had it delightfully in their room.

Suddenly it was realised that the two Musketeers who had taken

personal care of all were missing.

A knock in their room which was virtually a godown by the immediate

neighbours Gopal, Shankar, Rajiv and Babji revealed that the two

had not even taken their bath and were busy working out the basic

receipt and expenditure.pulling both out brought out an almost mini

tea party outside their room as Suji rusks and Pans came out with tea

which all dipped and had with their tea.

Tring is a call and Deepak jumps up to be informed that he was

going to the reception giving some weird clues to Pankuj which only

he could understand.

Ten minutes later he is back and directs disbursement as he rushes to

the bathroom asking all to be present in the hall as the venue had

been shifted from the deck outside to inside considering the

extremely windy conditions and chill.'Delighted Smita screams ' Are u

a Genie or what Deepak?'

Ladies are delighted with the news and the boys start expecting

something hot again in the night.

As we all reach the hall the bar as usual is ready and the hall ready with the warmth and a live singer

who sang all variety of songs with karaoke and called up people to come and sing the night was

again lit up with people opening up with singing talents.

Alas at 11.00 pm the music had to be closed and the Bar quickly shifted downstairs where singing

continued over delicious and sumptuous food.

Next day was an early departure announced at 8.00 am as people had flights to catch and

breakfast at 6.30.

To everybody'S surprise the breakfast was served on time and were surprised to these two loving guys

Pankuj and Deepak all ready at the reception to see us off.

With an attendance call in the bus the bus departed and a wonderful lunch was served again at

Gajraula organised by the Committee.

Each one of us had a tremendous time as a family with these two loved ones Deepak and Pankuj

and the one backing up because of illness Sameer became the stars of every body's eyes and

every body thanked them for the wonderful arrangements terming it as the best ever FAMIT till now.

These are not my personal words but you can vouch for them with the reviews and pictures on the

FAMIT Jungle Mein mungle Group .

Kavita Kabra has even written a three page article on the same which reproduces the entire event

briefly.

Thank u Pankuj Sameer and Deepak for giving us such a wonderful time and winning over our hearts

with ur love, empathy and affection.

But before I end one person who silently made this event a big success is our National FellwshioConvenor 41 er Y.R. Hari Krishna, our dear Hari Anna without whose support this FAMIT could not havebeen what it happened to be.

Thanks to all who attended it and missed those who could not make it for some reasons.

When Rajiv decided to book us for the 41 ERsNational meet at Jim Corbett..my bratty mindcribbed... resentfully..and full of apprehension.I thought oh god now this so called Areachairman is getting too serious about his nittygritty regarding 41 ERs. !! Why do we have togo??.I was pretty stuck up...as there wasnobody else from Hyderabad. And as my goodfriend Zayn Khan �nally told me. : "Go!! Kayand if you �nd yourself mad ,restless do yourtypical stunt..just hang out with the men!!!!!"Haahaa.!!Anyway so here we were joining the bus at

Akshardham...we werethe last toboard.So bythen everyone had already partied the previous night and theywere all familiar with each other.Nevermind I sighed ..on .such occasions I start having deepconversations with myself!! So I "announced" my intro as I gotinto the bus ...and meandered to �nd a spot where I couldprobably be a recluse...!!! My pre decided notions!!!Luck always gimmicks you. So Delhi 41,ER Khusrou offered mehis seat...and what neatly caught my attention was he like me hada huge display of various rings on his �nger s!. I'm a fanatic forrings!!! So this KK was glad to meet this KK!!!! Ok! Right away!

Parul was in front of me and very warmly greeted me.. and Iinstantly told her how hungry I was. .. because she mentioned tome that she was an excited grandmom..phir Kya I said I can easilytrouble her for food. She would know.!!!Out came an energy �lledbox of gajak..till the bus would stop for lunch. So ..as the long

tedious drive carried on...we had versatile singers from all over the country.. introducing themselveswith songs in different languages..and musical tones!!;Lead by Smita

As I chatted with myself I couldn't but admire this amazing qualityof tabling....the beautiful vibration that simply synchronizes itselfas tablers..& now seasoned 41ers mix together. The �avour of anunderstanding,knowing,similar interests, fun, just blendamicably..It's as if everyone knew everyone from the day theywere born!! The comfort is so tremendous!!So well..this never ending journey �nally reached it's destinationat 8pm after a lovely dhabha lunch.Full..punjoo style.

Here we were....Jimmy boy!!!..in the jungle...!! Resort.The weather was what all of us were acclimatizing to..crisp coldand a bit too cold !!!The setting for the soirée was by a bon�re..and a singer...whowas doing some lovely chirpy Hindi songs.Most of us were quite exhausted after that cumbersome drive..butsome early jungle birds like Deepak and Pankuj ,ensured we were all taken care of...the arrangements as usualtypical tabling style were perfect.

Uneasy me..made myself a little place under the night sky. ..trying hard to make conversation herethere. My good pal Hari Anna from vizag was doing his best to keep me feeling as if this was thebest thing I had done. Land up there!!Destiny always manages that a spirit will help you �nd your partners in crime anywhere one goes.Idhar bhi spiritedly I struck those criminals. Sanjeev Shah.frim Mumbai...to begin with and then bythe next evening the list grew like my crooked, notorious self..Rajiv mehra, Preeti. Pankaj,Punit,Hari...to pick a few!! I had made soulful friends!...So the next day these boring 41ers decided to go ahead and have their meeting. Which ended atsome �ve pm Jim Corbett time!! Gosh they seriously missed some excellent weather, mother natureand beauty couped up in the hall.One group of lovely enthusiastic ladies droveup to Nainital..for the day..I think they had ablast by the constant pictures and updatesthey kept bombarding on the WhatsAppgroup!! Of course by the amount of superbshopping they showed up with I know thedecision to go to Nainital was not at allwrong!Few of us lazy lumps had decided to relax atthe resort.But Pankuj did not let us be. Hearranged river crossing..as an adventure..sowe all went along. And played this game ofcrossing the river!!Quite a game..! Waddling on the stones ,coldwater,moss and �nally Kids Aditi..and Kunaleven swam in the river ultimately.

It was serene,calm and the �sh gave us theideal pedicure.Afternoon I took a huge walk..uhm my �rst "trek" in the resorts luxurious surroundings.I convinced thewatchmen to open the excluded forest gate from where nobody's allowed...and I went prowling..hopingsome animal recognize s the animal in me !!But nothing happened..I returned after awhile..and took a nap..till Rajiv called and said their so calledmeeting was over.

That night Delhi organisers had some graceful entertainment..Belle dancers who kept the audienceenthralled. But then I asked Praveen ..why did he not organize a male dancer for all the women too??Because in the middle of that entertainment I suddenly felt was this a stag party!?? Just because wecame to the jungle...the "dears "were treating themselves too dearly!Uhm of course Praveens answer was quite predictable!!.Nonetheless it was a very fantabulous evening..as long as we rock the dance �oor...it's a party!! Mybaby elephant HariAnna always obliges .

My new partners in crime kept re�lling warm honey rum punch as the season s drink in my glass. AsSanjeev would've by then realized he needs ear plugs to keep a blabmouth off!! They all decided Rajivkabra would de�nitely get an award forAct of bravery some day!!

Hope president Round table india obliges if not anyone else.

Next morning punit sampat happened to lure Rajiv and me into a real jungle trek..He was the man ofglory...we just followed..thru the river,up the rope bridges...on the forest...pathway.. NO Googleaid!....till we ultimately reached a temple...sins cleansed..we took a fun auto ride back to our resort. Wegot a taste of the surroundings thanks to his luring!!!

After lunch.. we all spruced up ...well clothed and fed to go for the four hour much awaited junglesafari.

The experience was marvelous.. not a single Tiger was sited. We drove through and through andheard the quirky convincing tales of our guide who ensured how we would see a tiger. We saw pawmarks and holy shit...of different varieties..we even played a game..guess the shit !!! Then we sawsome birds..and deers who were ready for their stag party...then we saw the monkeys!!. They evenmonkeyed around with some of us.

The Bravo's !!All the 41 ERs knew ..even a tiger cannot match up to their legacy....so that's why it is what it is!!!As we put it across "Gulliver's travel....became Gullible travels ". ..in this national board safari!Photograhs shot..tea breaks ,and "grass" breaks..we all returned for a chilled evening back to the

resort. The last one as we would head home the next morning.So that evening an extremely rocking performance by a versatile singer from Delhikept everybody on their toes for the longest time ever.We also had lots of our own 41 ERs who sang. Amazing voices!! From Summerwine from Reji, to the

aamir khan song by Pankaj Singh,Passion �owed from voices.

Remarkably it was one of the most ardently arranged meet from the beginning till the end.I had gone with so much inhibition..but I was returning with lots of happiness as a description!!!This is the world of tabling fellowship and bonding. You make friends forever.At 41..... We are de�nitely so relaxed,so easy going ...and so �exible to each other.There s a lovelythread that has already tied us together when we joined tabling. We know it all and now is the time tomake the knots of this thread ten times stronger.As we meet we can keep tying up the lovely connection that was made years ago by this fortunatelywonderful movement.I would de�nitely encourage ..(coming especially from snobby bratty snooty old me..) that next time lotsmore of us from all the different cities here in India should gather and meet up for more such 41ersholidays.Because by now most of us know that:_Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity. – Khalil Gibran

Tangent India in a span of 4 days, Chartered the 2nd Club of 2017-18, in the hub of Tabling & Circling in Coimbatore on 9th January.

In a city where Ladies Circle originated, where there were 16 , 41Clubs, it was surprising why there was no Tangent Club here.

On a visit to this city in September 2017 , the first contact meetingwas arranged & held . The result of the several contact meetingswas the Charter of this 2 nd baby of Tangent India of 2017-18.

GayatriAhuja was the Charter Chairperson & Ganga Narayan wasthe Charter Secretary .This Club whose sponsor Table was Salem , was Chartered in thepresence of Lakshmi Siddharthan CP Salem Club # 23, MuniraAkbar, Secretary , President 41 Clubs Harsh Sehgal and Past AreaChairman Area 1 of 41 Clubs Rajesh Ahuja.

PONGAL – DESI STYLETangent Club 23 had a traditional get together to celebrate Pongal. From the walk into the home after doing Aarti to a cow ,

decorating it with flowers, sitting in a traditional way on a 'khatiyya'wearimg fancy sunglasses . Sugarcane decorated area,

a 'jhoola 'for all the ladies decorated with flowers & sugarcane. Delicacies served in plantain leaves, sugarcane juice to drink.

Food served on plantain leaves . Oh so traditional & beautifully organised. The meeting was a good mix of sharing , bonding

& even more fun ! Salem Club 23 you simply rock and I believe we were all rockstars playing the fun game too !

The Equator is an imaginary line on the surface, equidistant from the North and South Poles, dividing

the Earth into Northern and Southern Hemispheres passing 6 km north of central Kisumu. Here the

direction of rotation changes between the two hemispheres. The Coriolis effect is greatest at the poles

and zero at the equator because of the earth's spherical shape. North of the equator the rotation is

clockwise and anti clockwise south of the equator and no effect ON the equator as demonstrated in

the videos recorded by me today 26th January at 5 pm at Kisumu.

The volley ball team of 41ers that won the event at Whistle Podu had 41ers Ramesh from Hyderabad as one

of the participants.Here is are excerpts of the interview with Ramesh.

Selfie Editor – How are you all feeling after taking the volleyball championship ?

Ramesh – Great, speacially as we won compating against much younger players from round Table.

SE- What sort of preparation you all underwent before the tournament ?

Ramesh – None. Ha ha. One day before I was going to Channai for the tournament I didn't even know of the

players except one. But the fact is that all those who got together in the team are into sports and regularly

play some sport or the other.

SE – Isnt it amazing that you pulled off this victory then ??

Ramesh – The one reason I would say we won was that all the players gave their 100% while we were on the

court. It was as if everyone had come to win.

SE – Congratulations and all the best for the coming year.
