While this is cool, calling is making people stronger, fitter, faster, more Kanyeer than they thought possible, even if th recovering from major or minor injuries, or while dealing with medical disorders. My clientele has included clients with postsurgical joint replacement rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilita wellness, sports injury postrehabilitation, neural impairments and spinal cord injuries, cancer patien even elite runners and fire fighters. Training is easiest once you know where to start, which is why I incorporate a lot of different assessment techniques, ranging from orthopedic assessments to the Fu Movement Screen to submaximal and maximal cardio testing to determine VO2 max. Everyone has beast of an athlete inside of them, and deserves to feel what it’s like to push their limits with a safe effective program. I’ve managed to teach seminars across North America on topics ranging from Post Rehab for the Pe Trainer to Psychology and Motivation for Optimal Training. Most of my talks focus on using humour handson application to keep people engaged and entertained. This has been shown to be a succes method of having participants retain key information versus just speaking and instructing. Here’s a s of me teaching a core assessment and function seminar, and also dropping a super sweet magic tric stuck hip.

About the Presenter

Course Description

This workshop will go through pertinent anatomical and functional considerations for personal trainers,strength coaches and practitioners when working with general population, athletic and rehabilitation clienteleand patients. Specific attention will be paid to overhead motion, scapular mechanics, and thoracic function inthe shoulder day, and lumbopelvic rhythm, hip joint range of motion, and the role of core stabilization to hipmotion. Participants will learn hands on assessments for the shoulder and hip, mobility practices and stabilizationpatterns, as well as how to coach common movements with adaptations to their specific anatomical andmobility considerations determined through the assessments. 

Course Outline

Day One:9:00am – opening welcome – 9:10 – 10:00am: Shoulder anatomy & assessment considerations - lecture10:00 - 12:00pm: Shoulder assessments, key points, & case studies - hands on12:00 - 1:00pm - lunch 1:00 – 3:00pm: Corrective strategies based on assessment outcomes. Specifically looking at throwers &overhead athletes, as well as common injuries & conditions. Time spent on thoracic mobility, shoulderpositional awareness, goal outcomes – hands on 3:00 – 4:50pm: Performance coaching. How and when to involve higher threshold patterns as well asintensities required for strength & speed improvements. Med ball work, pressing, carries, and pullingmovements – hands on 4:50 – Final question period for Day One
