Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, Welcome to Sacred Heart Church!

Happy Holy Family Sunday! I hope your Christmas Day was brightened by a gathering of family and friends. May these days of the

Christmas Season enable you to rejoice. Know I am grateful for your presence today. Your prayerful participation in our celebration of the Eucharistic Liturgy for the Feast of the Holy Family lifts our spirit. May our time in prayer enrich each of us with a greater reverence for those we call family. May peace reign in our homes. On this Wednesday, December 30, Deacon John Suplee will retire as Parish Business Manager. John will continue to be a vital part of our Parish community as he continues to serve as a Deacon here at Sacred Heart. John has been an integral part of our Parish staff during my years as Pastor and beyond. During his many years of service, Deacon John took on a variety of responsibilities in his role as Business Manager and previously as Director of Religious Education. I am especially grateful for John “breaking me in” when I came to Sacred Heart as Pastor in 2000. His knowledge of the Parish and its history, along with his pastoral insights, have been invaluable over my years. On behalf of you, the Parish community and our Parish staff, I extend our thanks and appreciation for John’s dedicated service. We wish you peace and happiness as you begin retirement, John. Enjoy!! On Friday, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. This holy day invites us to pray as we enter a New Year. Check today’s bulletin for the times of Mass. As we move into the New Year, I pray that the Lord Jesus blesses us with the grace to rededicate ourselves to our discipleship in Christ. May the Peace of Christ reign in your hearts and minds in the new year. Happy New Year! God bless, Fr. McKee

THE BEST TIME TO REDISCOVER JESUS IS RIGHT NOW.

There are some questions that we all ask ourselves in different ways: Who am I? Who is God? What am I here for? What matters most? What matters least? What are my unique talents and abilities? What will my contribution be? We discover the answers to these questions most completely by encountering Jesus. He longs to help us discover deeply personal answers to our deeply personal questions.

This is our new Catholic media resource display; please take full advantage of these great tools. Items are free and if you are inclined to offer a small donation, donations are then used to replenish the kiosk and further the mission as well as help plant seeds of faith in other Churches right here in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia! Whenever you listen to a Lighthouse Catholic Media CD, you learn something about your faith, or gain an insight into living the gospel, becoming closer to Christ in some way. Your life changes, if only in what may seem the smallest of ways. And when you pass the CD along to a friend or family member, you do the work of evangelization... bringing another soul closer to Christ.
