After a hugely successful ‘Clean Ocean’s Tour’, the Ocean Ambassadors have dropped the anchor in Fiji. We have done the education, we’ve checked the case studies and now we go to work.

Fast Track Fiji is a custom designed program for direct action on waste remediation in Fiji. Our focus is on local processing of all plastics to Create Jobs, Close Landfills and Anchor Renewable Energy Systems.

We are now engaging Hotels, Marina’s, Large Corporations, Government and the local communities of Fiji in assisting us to clean an entire country.

The Fast Track Fiji program has the potential to be a groundbreaking scalable model for every island nation to rid their shores of Plastic Pollution. With a unified effort we can restore fish-stocks, create local economy and dramatically reduce plastic entering our oceans.

Now focusing on waste plastics, The Ocean Ambassadors aim to Fast Track Fiji as the first island nation to reduce plastic pollution and locally process the supply into alternative fuels and textiles.

Ocean AmbassadorsThe Ocean Ambassadors was established by founder, Captain Adrian Midwood.

After many years enjoying the south pacific for its perfect waves, steady trade winds, exceptional diving and all around ‘best playground in the world.’ Adrian decided to change his career path to conserving all these resources.

Collaborating with the Green Island Project Model, he set forth to ‘design and promote next generation municipal scale utilities.’

Utilizing the blest Technology we can re-direct the majority of our plastics to a gasification process that will transfer this once deadly product into low sulfur burning content fuel. We can rid ourselves of this plastic and process existing plastics that have reached the ‘end of lifecycle’ stage, yet still harness usable energy.

Throughout our tours we have been lucky enough to engage with top-level scientists who educate the world on the effects of this man made problem. With plastics in the ocean photo degrading, small toxic particles enter our food stream and now present an extreme hazard to the health of our marine life and ourselves.

Episode 1: In Post Production

Case Study and comparative of a 1st world nation, dependent island, independent island and developing island nation.

In January of 2014, our team decided it was time for a little less talk, and a little more action.

We set sail from Brisbane to Australia working with Take 3 frontman Tim Silverwood, to ‘Talk Trash’ with all major coastal communities en-route.

Quickly on the heels, we visited Lord Howe Island and worked alongside Dr. Jennifer Lavers and her shearwater flushing program. After these baby chics have been fed by their mothers numerous plastic pieces, Dr. Lavers pumps their stomachs full of water until they are able to spit out the plastic and have a chance to survive and digest real food.

All on an island where 100% of waste is re-directed to the mainland.


Norfolk Island was our next destination, where we were greeted with open arms from a community that has no economically viable option to deal with our new first world problems of waste.

By engaging the community, school and local administration we proposed the first real-time solution this island could take on to process their plastics and reduce their need for importing fuel.


On to Vanuatu we explored this diverse and nature rich developing nation struggling with the balance of new world conveniences and traditional style living.

We teamed up with Oceans Watch who specialize in sustainable livelihoods, marine conservation and local outreach to facilitate our stay and bring forward their extensive local network.

On Wings of Waste: 100% recycled fuel flight from Australia to the United Kingdom

Jeremy Rowsell has been flying for 26 years, as an ocean lover, and sailor alike, Jeremy plans to bring his campaign to the masses and show how we can utilize these, formally known as waste products, as a resource.

We plan to fuel this flight from plastic we collect while we clean up Fiji.

Moving Forward

Fast Track Fiji is designed to be the first scalable model other islands can replicate to rid themselves of Plastic pollution.

Waste Collection and Re-direction

We are now seeking aligned partners to become Ocean Ambassadors Certified and take the initiative to collect and separate plastics from their general waste and direct it to our processing facility:

This requires interested parties to offer:

• Plastic collection at their location

• Redirection from remote areas

• Fiscal sponsorship

• Collect donations for the Fast Track Fiji fund

• Sponsor a village/school

• Community engagement and education:

The Ocean Ambassadors are committing to staying in Fiji and project managing this entire process.

We offer our expertise in plastic remediation technologies for economic growth and our ongoing outreach program.

By visiting all locations that welcome this scheme, we will perform hands on educational presentations on marine debris and proven technologies on how to process this locally.

To complete a local life cycle we are now engaging with local interested parties who can offer assistance with the capital investment for next generation utilities and infrastructure.

Includes: Complete production line, with capability of producing 220 liters a day of light sweet crude oil.

PET to Fabric production line:

Estimated Budget: $400,000

Includes: Complete production line of crushing, pelatizing and weaving PET plastic to various textile products.

Stage 2Nationalized Waste Redirection and local processing

With a successful Stage 1 completed, we should have all the necessary tools for a realistic action plan.

Complete Budget and implementation engaging all major municipal centers.

Stage 3 Domesticated recycling streams

After we have reached complete return on investment with the commercial utilities and waste re-direction, the goal is to bring Fiji to a first world standard in recycling.

Stage 4 Neighboring Island Nation Outreach

Utilizing our existing relationships in the neighboring countries of Fiji, we plan to re-direct their waste streams to our processing applications.

Including, but not limited to Tonga, Vanuatu, Tuvalu.
