Dearest Family,
I bring you Advent
greeng from Saviour of
the world Children, work-
ers and my family, though
my country is facing a
crical and frightened
situaons but yet we
keep the hope and pray
that it will come to an
end soon. I want to ex-
tend our profound thanks
and appreciaon to you
all for your remarkable
support you have being
rendering to us and more
especially in this crical
me. I want to confess
we are safe because of
you. I want to also thank
God for our community,
my family and my chil-
dren and workers that
none have got a case. The
lockdown has now ended,
but we are sll fright-
ened. One should always
be frightened of the virus
if your community, close
family, household, neigh-
bour, or friend has con-
tacted the virus in that
case you are not innocent
because one way or the
other you have come in
contact with the virus
also. The best we have
done so far to prevent it
is that we visit no one, we
welcome no friends no
relaves, we even isolate
ourselves from the com-
munity because this is a
crucial me were in you
trust no one and we pray
for Gods protecon over
our lives and we also
wants to thank you all for
your wonderful.
Since the ebola crisis the
food prices has gone up
so we were not able to
pay our workers for this
December. They have
families and need to sur-
vive.
The children are having a
cold and sad atmosphere
since July and as children,
nature and corrupon
has deprived them from
their childhood rights
which is very sad. As a
result of this unfortunate
situaon we will try
ge'ng them new dress
for Christmas as gi(s with
what ever supports you
will send for them to feel
belong and then a Christ-
mas dinner to eat. This is
what we are planing for
Christmass. During the
lockdown the children
and I cannot a)end Mass
but now I am going but I
only and did not go with
any of the children. The
priest is also not coming
to the home now. We do
not know what we will do
for Christmas Mass.

Christmas and New Year gatherings have been banned by the government throughout Sierra Leone for fear the Ebola virus will be spread to rural villages as people go home to cele-brate.
The edict, which will be enforced by the army, means those who live in the capital, Freetown, will be barred from travelling to join their extended fami-lies. The city’s residents account for a third of the country’s population. A “lock-down” is reported to also be happening in near-by Port Loko, which is the other big urban area with soaring cases.
Palo Conteh, the minister of defence who heads the government’s Ebola re-sponse unit, said on Friday there would be “no Christ-mas and New Year celebra-tions this year. We will ensure that everybody re-mains at home to reflect on Ebola.
“Military personnel will be on the streets at Christmas and the New Year to stop any street celebrations.”

I want to also extend our
profound appreciaon for
the support you give us as
I am told we are closer to
having enough money to
obtain a vehicle because
we needed it badly at this
me. We are saying a big
thanks.

Thanks with much love

Mary. You have an Old-
er Brother: his name is
Jesus. And you have a
place in the most beauti-
ful home in the universe:
your home, dearest chil-
dren, is heaven.
How many of you want
to go to heaven? How
many of you want to go
to heaven today? Do
you know that your best
friend is Jesus? Do you
know that your friend
Jesus wants to live with
you forever in heaven?
Jesus will give you the
joy of music, the joy of
the song, the joy of the
drum, the joy of the
dance – he will give you
the joy of celebration in
your true home; and I
repeat once again, your
true home is heaven.
But, be honest: are some
of you feeling a little sad
these days? Are you
worried? Are you feel-
ing a bit discouraged?
Are you feeling some
disappointments in your
life? Are you thinking
that others are happier
than you are? Are you
feeling like you failed?
Jesus is born to give you
peace and joy: Christmas
is to celebrate the fact
that Jesus, our Lord and
our God, is a tiny child
who gives peace and joy.
Jesus wants to save you
from all your failures,

Dearest Louisa, all of

all of God’s Precious
Children in Savior of the

Merry Christmas!
Jesus is born as a child
that is not wanted: there
is no place for him in the
warm, comfortable ho-
tels of Bethlehem. Sad-
ly, there are children in
this cold world whose
families do not want
them. But Jesus and the
Savior of the World
Family have a message
for all of you who are
children: Do not be
afraid! You have a Fa-
ther: he is God the Fa-
ther. You have a Moth-
er: she is the Virgin

your discouragement,
your disappointments,
your sadness, and your
fear. Jesus wants to give
you peace, energy, hope,
patience, endurance,
trust and love.
There was one time two
days before Christmas
when a Charity Sister
came knocking at my
window: she was feeling
frightened and discour-
aged. She said, “Come
quickly, Father
Umuhozanimana, there
is an elderly man, and he
needs you.” I went with
the Charity Sister to the
hospital, and I met the
elderly man. He was not
moving: he was uncon-
scious. Sister said to me,
“Father Umuhozanima-
na, we don’t know if this
man received the waters
of baptism that come
from the Savior of the
World. But we do know
that he wants to go to
heaven to sing and dance
eternally. Can you do
something?
I baptized the man with
the water of God’s salva-
tion. If he was baptized
before, he may have
(Continued from page 2) failed sometimes to do
what is right, so I gave
him God’s forgiveness,
the absolution of confes-
sion. Because he was
dying, he needed God’s
strength, so I gave him
the sacred oil of the sac-
rament of confirmation.
I gave him the sacrament
of the sick.
Soon after, he died. The
Charity Sister asked me,
“Do you think he is in
heaven?” I said to the
Sister, “I think our new
brother is meeting Jesus;
and Jesus says to him,
‘Welcome, brother, into
the eternal joy of heav-
en.’ Then I think that
the man says to Jesus,
‘Thank you very much,
Jesus; but I don’t know
how I got here.’ Then
Jesus says to the man,
‘You are here because a
Charity Sister called the
priest; and the priest
gave you my water and
my living grace of eter-
nal salvation. I am your
Savior and the Savior of
the World. Welcome
into heaven!’”
The next day I went to
the same spot where that
man had fallen sick.
There were other elderly
men who were not sick
and they were not dying.
They were quite well,
but they liked to drink
plenty and plenty of
beer, palm wine, whis-
key, and other liquors.
Now they saw me and
they said, “Father
Umuhozanimana , we
want to go to heaven.
Can we tell you all our
sins and then you give us
God’s forgiveness? I
said to them, “Of
course!”
I heard the confession of
all these men and gave
them God’s forgiveness.
They celebrated Christ-
mas with a new joy in
their hearts: the joy of
knowing that they are
loved. Because God
loves them, God be-
comes a father to them;
Mary becomes a Mother
to them; and Jesus be-
comes an Older Brother.
All these men said to me,
“Father, we were living
as sinners. Now we will
do everything necessary
to become saints.”
Dear little children of
Savior of the World:
What Christmas gift do
you want to give to your
older brother, Jesus? Do
you want to give him

your love? If so, please
pray every day; please
obey your elders, espe-
cially Mama Louisa and
Mama Kadiatu; please
do your house chores;
please study and do well
on your tests and exams;
please sing and dance
with joy; and please be
good friends with those
children who need a
good friend. Whenever
you have a problem, re-
member that the problem
will not be for a long
time. Jesus will have
compassion, and He will
give you peace.
What is my Christmas
message? I love all of
you. I am praying for all
of you. You are very
precious. I am happy
that Jesus has chosen to
be your Savior and the
Savior of the World.
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!

hot in Sierra Leone and
no public vehicle uses air

chances of coming in

to you– is basically
100%.
When she has to go to
Freetown for supplies or
to the bank Louisa has
only called people that
she knows and asks to
borrow their car. It is a
difficult way to run a
home for 60 children.,
especially if they need to
take a child to the doctor,
as malaria and typhoid
continue to infect many.
As Louisa mentioned in
her message, she and the
children are in great need
of a means of transpor-
tation. The car that we
sent years ago was not
running and in need of
major repairs. Louisa
sold it for $1500.
We are now hoping to
purchase a car here to
send to her.
As you can imagine,
public transportation is
an extremely unsafe way
to travel. It consists
mostly of private drivers
who rent out their cars
like taxi cabs, or of vehi-
cles called poda-podas,
which are old vans that
have had their seats re-
moved and replaced with
wooden bench seats.
These vans, which origi-
Your donations over the
past few months have
enabled us to consider
buying a vehicle to ship
over to Sierra Leone. At
the present time, we do
not know if there are any
companies that will ship
to Sierra Leone, but cer-
tainly that will open up
in the future.
Louisa has had the op-
portunity to seriously
consider the type of car
she needs. It has to be
affordable, get good gas
mileage, have enough
room for children and/or
supplies, and be a car
fairly common in Sierra
Leone so that she can get
parts to fix and maintain
it.
She has told us that the
