Blind JumpSky diving is a sport that has been around for many years.
People that have experienced the thrill of jumping out of
a plane at 10,000-15,000 feet say it is exhilarating. At
speeds between 120-250 mph, if the parachute fails to
open then the person will surely crash to the ground.
Have you ever felt like you were about to crash to
the ground?
There are many families who have guratively jumped out
of a plane but their parachutes have not opened. They are
racing to the ground at a very high rate of speed and they
are very close to disaster. Temptation can enter the life
of a family in very subtle but devastating ways. However,
if the family will trust God to be their parachute, He can
save them.
Read Genesis 3:1-6. How did temptation devastate
this family?
How has temptation devastated your family?
God had a perfect plan for Adam and Eve and they chose
to walk away from that plan. God also has a perfect plan
for you and your family.
Families that stay focused on God and close to Him
are families who are able to stand together when
temptation strikes.
My PrayerGod, protect me and myfamily from temptations that
will bring us down.

Chances are if you have a sibling, you probably think your parents love and
pamper your sibling more than you. In most situations that is not the case.
Parents will tell you they love their children equally but differently. Many
children think this means they show favoritism to the other sibling. This can be
a dangerous thought because it can lead to bad decision making.
Read Genesis 4:3-8. Describe the scene here.
Have you ever felt like God was blessing someone more than He
was blessing you? When?
There isnt a single example in the Bible of God
showing favoritism to any of His children.
God always shows us a greater amount oflove than we show Him. It is important to
understand that God does not bless you based
on what you have to offer Him materially.
He blesses you when all you have
to offer Him is your heart.
Do you trust God
with every aspect of
your life? How do you
demonstrate that?
Abel gave the very best he had and he
made a sacrice to give it to God. Cain, on
the other hand, tried to take the easy way
out and refused to offer a heartfelt sacrice.
When God rejected it, Cain became angry and
killed his brother.
Commit yourself to giving God your very best.BES

Undercover Brothers
It appeared that Robert Hanssen was serving his country
faithfully. He had been an FBI agent for over 20 years
and had climbed the corporate ladder. He was known
in the Bureau as a computer expert. He was given one
promotion after another and it seemed like he had apromising career in law enforcement.
It wasnt revealed until years later that Hanssen
had been selling secrets to the Soviet Union.
Because of his espionage, many CIA and
KGB agents were killed. Special Agent Robert
Hanssen appeared to be serving his country.
In reality, he was selling out his country for
a prot.
Read 1 Samuel 2:12-17. How do you think thefather felt about the way his sons were acting?
In a way, Elis sons were a lot like Robert Hanssen.
They were appearing to be godly men but they were
actually looking out for their own interests. They
made a prot by pretending to be something they were
not. Elis sons knew Gods desire and they also knew what
their father desired, but they chose to disobey both. God
would later punish this entire family because of their
rebellious hearts.
How faithful are you to Gods commands and to the
commands of your parents?
Are you pretending to be a godly teenager when
youre really something else? How?
Commit to faithfully serve God and to
represent Him well to others who arewatching you.
My PrayerGod, help me to be the person thatwould bring You honor and glory.
