Join us on Tuesday, September 26, starting at 10:00 am. This is your opportunity to see and try two of our classes for free: Mandala Art and Japanese Flower Arranging.

According to Wikipedia, “a mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol representing the universe.” The term “mandala” now often refers to a diagram, chart or geometric pattern. Local artist, Marie Taylor, has been teaching Mandala Art to seniors at Hart Senior Center. Many of those seniors who didn’t think they had any artistic talent are suprised to discover how easily they can create colorful and intricate mandalas. From 10:00-11:00 am, Marie will demonstrate how to create an intricate mandala using only the simplest tools. Watch, learn, and ask questions about this universal art form.

Chieko Hirai-Brim, has been teaching Japanese Flower Arranging (Ikenobo Ikebana) at ACC since 2016 and she has been a licensed Ikebana instructor for 20 years. From 11:00-11:30 am, Chieko will demonstrate how easy it is to create your own beautiful and simple Japanese-style flower arrangements.
