Where are you from?

I was born in Southern California

in the city of San Pedro which is

near Long Beach. The Port of Los

Angeles is nestled in between both

cities. I often describe San Pedro

as a mini San Francisco with plen-

ty of hills and beautiful homes.

How long have you been at SCTC?

I have been at SCTC since the be-

ginning of summer.

What’s your favorite recent read?

I just finished reading Relic by Douglas Preston and Lee

Child. It was a nice change from murder mysteries, and

my favorite characters did not get eaten by the ancient

museum beasty.

What do you want students to know about the Lab?

WE ARE OPEN! No really, we are open. The Henry Lab is

the last room down the hall on the right. We can make

student IDs and update IDs with current stickers. Also,

we can help students explore all the resources the

SCTC Library in Griffin has available both online and in

the physical library for student use.

Denise

Morales-White

Where are you from?

I’m originally from a town

in North Georgia, Toccoa,

in Stephens County.

How long have you been at

SCTC?

I’ve been working at SCTC

for about 14 years.

What’s your favorite recent read?

A good book to me is a book on how to do some-

thing; like how to repair an engine or how to re-

pair or program a computer.

What do you want students to know about the

Lab?

I would like the students to know that we have

an open computer lab in room 126 on the Henry

campus. I think the computer lab is a very good

resource. We have state of the art machines

available 7:45 AM —7.00 PM daily.

County Center has an open

computer lab? If you’re a

Southern Crescent student, you

can print, use Microsoft Office,

access the Internet, and get

your student IDs made here.

There will always be a lab as-

sistant present during lab hours

to help you with any technical

difficulties or questions you

might have. Read on below to

lab assistants, Tim and Denise!

...you can use other TCSG libraries?

...Noodle Tools will do citations for you?

Can’t remember exactly how to log into BannerWeb? Unsure

about what Angel is for? NEW for this Fall: presenting The

Information Center! The Flint Library now has answers for your

most frequently asked questions, all in one handy spot! Our In-

formation Center is across from the main circulation desk, and

it includes convenient brochures and handouts for you to take

with you. You can still ask any of us library staff for help too;

plus we now carry written reminders of “how to’s”.

...about Flint River’s Information Center?

As a Southern Crescent student, you have access not only to our library’s resources, but to Clayton State,

Gordon College, and any Georgia Technical College library as well. If Griffin or Thomaston is too far of a hike

for you, or if you need to use a library on Friday, Saturday or Sunday,

you can use the computers and resources at any of these other col-

lege libraries.

Want to learn more? Stop by the library desk at the Griffin or Flint

River campuses to fill out a reciprocal borrowing form and find out

more about different library locations you can use. All you need to do

is show a current, updated student ID at the desk.

Citations can be a pain. Let the library help you out! Noodle Tools is a program that takes away the grief

of formatting your bibliography, whether in MLA or APA format. All you have to do is type in your resource’s

bibliographic information, and with the press of a button, Noodle Tools will automatically format it for you.

Want to learn more? Visit our site, libguides.sctech.edu/citations, and check out the log-in information

for Noodle Tools, including how to set up an account and build your first works cited page.
